Im looking to Oc my 2500 Barton @least to 2.0+ ghz on a DFI infinity. But alas im moving to college so i need somthing silent but efective.
Suggestions on the most effective silent Heatsink/fan combos.
And where 2 buy em?

SLK-900 U is Pretty cheap, I think 30-40 US. The newer one, SLK-947 (+/-, I forget..) fits more motherboards, and has a slightly different design to it.
Then just add an adjustable fan or something, or maybe a TMD and you're set.
Just check the Thermalright site to make sure the heatsink will fit your mobo.

Tip magnetic drive.
http://www.dansdata.com/tmdfan.htm
It uses magnets to spin it, and eliminates most of the blindspot in the centre, since there is no motor.

The fan size on that one is 92mm Right?
Also is there a 4 Hole Spring Loaded version other than the Clip 2 the ZIF socket?

80, 92, and TMD.
It's got clips for different fittings.
edit: I'unno, my SLK-900 has these spring screws that go into the mobo, and into a support piece behind, and then fan mounted with crackets that notch into the fan holes.
Hope that helps^

Wat preformace would i expect from a Panaflo 92mm?
would that be a wise choice?

I'm sure it would do good.
Hell, I got a cheap 80mm case fan on my 900 and It dropped my P4's temp by 8 degrees full load.

Well im running this super annoying Themalcrap volcano 9+ and the Smartfan 2 runs @ extremely loud levels.. so anything would be a step in the right direction!

Well, I'm using a Chieftec Dragon w/ window right now..
-latch to remove side panel (Don't need screws to keep it shut and easy to open and close)
-four fan clips
-lots of space (going for water soon and it'll fir in here nicely)
-swing open front bezel (Where drives/power/reset button are)
-looks decent
It's nice, but you may want to look for a case with a side fan hole, if you're gonna stick with air cooling. I hear they really help the temperatures.
