ok if you were a n00b and all you knew about phaschange stuff wwas what you had garnered from reading these forums for the last few months (so that means not really that much) would you get a waterchiller or a directdie dual evap?

There is no way you will be able to build a dual evap system solely from information gathered here... Even pulling off a functioning, non-exploding waterchiller would be a solid start. :D

If you have HVAC experience, or have taken a course in it, however - that's a whole other ballpark.

no i wasnt going to build it CC was... i was just going to use it doesnt matter now... i figured id just go with the water chiller.. more options and more forgiving and he said itd hold like -20c so thats not to shabby... (not to mention my chilled cup holder :-D) btw a mod can delete this now

What do you wish to learn...???
If youhave a watercolled system and wish to venture into the phasechange arena thn the simple way would be to get a temperature controlled chiller where you could set the operating temperature you wish. Hence some control. And a means to go from extreme temperatures to a mild mannered daily system. All you need is a water chiller with temp control and you simply remove the radiator and hook up the chiller.
Direct die on the other hand requires a little more dedication.
To get a 24/7 system with direct die requires a lot of insulation and a means tp dehumidify the internals onf the case.
