Ok well I RMA'd my EPoX 8RDA+ rev 1.1 since it died for no reason on me before I could even use it.

I also have an ABIT NF7-S thats dead that I need to RMA.

What I want to know, what would you guys recommend that has the best potential to reach 240+ FSB

My system specs;

Athlon XP 2500+ Barton (weeks 314 & 315)
Athlon XP 1700+ TBread (JIUHB 307)
OCZ 3700 El (2x 256)
Built by ATI 9700 Pro

And of course I have watercooling with GPU and CPU blocks, and I use crystal orbs on Northbridge and passive cool SB with zalman heatsink.

Price of the board doesn't matter to me, just want the board that'll fit my o/c needs :slobber:

NOTE: I will also be VModding, have done so already to some boards not a problem to do with future board and parts :D

sweet board, thx for the heads up skate2snow!

3,3 vmem :slobber:
2.0+ vcore :slobber:

northbridge + southbridge already cooled, only 95 bucks with better components than a7n8x dx // abit nf7-s // epox 8rda+

I don't think I'll stop drooling till i pump out some 250x10 on that baby

cheers mate thx again! :toast:

Lower clock for clock then any other board I guess just going on thought and it's to later to think.

That depends on the BIOS that is used.

As does the overclocking ability...

If you just want high numbers and sandra then the infinity is the way to go..

I think the NF7 is still faster in 3d .... although there is probably little in it...

If I were buying now Id probably go with the DFI board, as its more fun :P

Everyone is screaming DFI, but I still go with the NF7 just for the fact that its been around the block a few more times and a proven performer.

NF7 wont clock for #$%& right now though... otherwise i woudl say flip a coin between NF7 and DFI.

as it is, you will get a crappy NF7 that will barely do 220fsb or a dfi that might do 265. so my thinking is the extra 45fsb might make up for the small performance hit. ;)

thats just my thinking.. i know teh DFI outscored my epox in 3D by a good deal. on a similar setup i got 19.1k @ 245fsb on my DFI(2300mhz cpu and raddy clocks not maxed) and on my epox at all clocks maxed out i managed an unpublishable 19.7, 19.5 publishable.

the extra fsb helps i think. and as Holst said, the DFI is just more fun :D

See I was worried that I wouldn't be able to buy another board better than the 8RDA+ or the NF7-S so I was lookin at the A7N8X DX again.

Thank god for DFI.

The max I was able to hit stable with my rig on the NF7-S rev 2.0 was 245x9.5

I was using Barton XP 2500 week 315
2x 256 XMS Corsair 3200LL @ 2-2-2-4

But I'm really looking forward to this DFI, I was reading the post by lastviking and his 280 FSB and I was just :slobber:

My soldering iron can't wait to get it's tip on that DFI Infinity :slobber:

I got a question:

Whats the important differences between the NFII Infinity & NFII Lan Party?

The only main thing that I saw was a much cooler PCB + 1394 firewire

is that it? other than that it looks like a Inifinity with a black PCB and 1 more option

Thanks for the help again guys much love to ya :toast:

Cool thx mate :)

EDIT: I'm also looking to buy a PCPower and cooling PS, any recommendations on what I should get?

Currently I have an Antec True Power 430W (2 of them)

I already modded one of them but I would rather just get my hands on a PC Power & Cooling

Ya I was reading up their website, I really wanted the 510 watter then looked at the price and started crying softly in the bathroom :(

But 135 for a 425 watter I can do :D

Does it come with the power cord or do I have to select to purchase that seperately? I ask because I'm ordering that and the new MOBO at this moment.

EDIT: Placed my order for PCP&C 425W and DFI NF2 Ultra Infinity both shipping overnight :D

And I just purchased the power cord with it for the hell of it. Can't wait to get my hands on this for some kickass OC.
