Whatsup, haven't been on here in a bit, but I've ran into a problem. I'm running Max 3, 2.4, watercooled, mushkin 3500 1gb at 2-2-3-6. The problem is I can run 3,636 easy, when I get to 3,710 my PC which is suppose to be really fast right, RUNS EXTREMELY slow like a x486. I got volts of 1.65-1.67 on CPU, 2.9 on RAM, 1.65 on DDR. What could be the problem?
Thanks,

it's your sata controller going out of spec
despite the pci lock on intel at <300fsb, once you cross 300fsb thereabouts give or take a few mhz depending on the board the agp and pci dividers go out of spec and start to climb. SATA is one of the first things that get twitchy as do ATI cards

How exactly do I counter this? Take the SATA drive off of the ICH5 and run it on the other SATA controller that is on the board? Countermeasures if any would be appreciated.
Instead of running WinXP off of the 36.7 SATA raptor. Run it off say the ATA133 60gb...would that work?
As far as the ATI is concerned, I'm purchasing either a block for the GPU or a outtake fan setup just as they have for the 5950 ultras. Would that help in that area?

well I think running the ICH5R is out. Maybe running on the promise SATA or whatever add on controller is on the board will work. As far as video goes some people have had luck by setting the agp to like 74mhz in bios then booting to windows at 295fsb set in bios then using clockgen to pump the fsb up to wherever.
there have been many threads about this in the intel section, you may wanna try to search in there b/c I'm no that knowledgeable in this area.

no..... do this:
put your SATA devices on the SI RAID controller.... not on the ICH5. This is becasue that controller can take a higher pci bus. Set the FSB on 300, and the agp:pci lock to 72/36 i think it was. someone correct me. (but as memory serves i think their is only 1 option around those numbers anyway). to go higher than 300mhz fsb, dont adjust it in the bios, but in clockgen (a software program that allows you to change your fsb in windows). good luck

P4C800 dlx mobo seems to support higher FSB then that;)

I'm pretty sure every 875/865 mobo does that around 300mhz fsb.
You'll have to use clockgen, and switch to the other controller or an "external" raid controller. Or just accept 3636mhz.

some people are doing like 320FSB in BIOS w/ the P4C800 dlx(P4P800 dlx too).
