Very good. And hopefully it is stable when your testing is done.

The 4ghz club is growing fast!!!

i have some questions now....

i'm not getting the performance i expected from a 4 ghz chip

i'm running a 9800 np flashed to pro at 415/362

using windows xp

geil gold dragon pc3700 @ 2-3-3-7

15 x 267 and 5:4

MAM enabled

cat 3.10

with my 2.4C @ 3.5 i was able to get 20.2K...

now I am getting at most 20.8K

any suggestions as to tweak this system?

A compare link would help.

But, judging from waht you said, either you got a bad run, or your ram/cpu is giving errors.

I don't have any compare links...

but...

i decided to back my 3.0C down to 3.5 ghz to compare..

i got about 18.2K @ 3.5 with the p4p800

i get about 20.2K @ 3.5 with the ic7

is this now a chipset issue then???

i really don't get this :(

i don't think it's the chip because i've stability tested it at 4 ghz and it runs perfectly fine...

as for the ram...

it's running below spec by almost 20 mhz....

so it's running ddr 426 @ 2.5-3-3-7

on the ic7 i had it running at ddr 466 @ 2.5-4-3-7

does that make that big of a difference?

note..... with the 2.4c at 3.5ghz you will get many more points then the 3.0c at 3.5ghz because of the greatly increased fsb....

P4P is only the 865PE and the IC7 the 875P, supposed that the PAT gives alot of boost

YES that makes a big difference, and PAT is worth another 300 points.

i see...

so in the case of 3dmark2k1

pure fsb is greater than clockspeed?

so a 2.4 running at 3.5 with 292 fsb is much better than a 3.0 running at 4.0 with 267 fsb?

well if that's the case, i should have kept my 2.4C and pumped that baby up to 4 ghz!!! :)

but superpi tells a different story:

2.4C @ 3.5 = 41 secs
3.0C @ 4.0 = 37 secs

so a program like superpi is dependent on clockspeed...

very interesting... :)

very interesting... :) FSB and clockspeed work togheter, a 2.4@3.6 will ALWAYS be faster then a 2.6@3.7
