BBATI 9700np @ 420/340 1.85v GPU/2.8v mem 4.97v on 5v rail.
Cooling:
Big copper heatsink with quiet 60mm fan.
Radeon like high 5v rails, too, so make sure you keep it around 5.1v-5.3v. I can make 430 at 1.75v with 5.3v..

1.85v is that safe?

Probably, if you have good cooling. I wouldn't leave it at that unless it was on at least watercooling, but for a bench it's prob fine. Btw, my 9700 Pro is a Rev 1.0, so it doesn't oc very well, but here are it's specs: Gigabyte, de-shimmed, did 351 with stock cooler, 378 after I put a small aluminum AthlonXP hsf on it, 398-405 after vmod ~1.7v. Mem is at 351 if I have a big fan on it, stock volts. Btw those clocks were artifact free through 3DMark03.

I've run up to 2.05v with the copper cooler and a 35cfm 60mm fan, backside doesnt get more than warm to the touch and the heatsink itself probably gets to 36c.
Didnt help my mhz any, though...

Hi all,
I have a 9700 non-pro (ATI) @ 350core / 330mem (with stock heatsink), have ordered the arctic cooler vga, will arive soon.
The good news is that I've got Samsung 2.86ns mem on it :slobber:
Does anyone think I will benefit by flashing it with a pro bios
If so can they point me in the direction of a good tutorial, thanks guys. Oh forgot to mention, had this card for £110 two weeks ago ;)

what kind of cooling do you guys put on your cards? water/chillers/phase changers aren't an option for me, so what's the best way to go as far as air. My BBA 9700pro maxes at 378 on the core with the stock cooling and no vmods. I'd like to be able to get it to 400.
thx :toast:

Club3d 9700pro@400/360 with watercooling. If I remember correctly 380@GPU with stock cooling.

this might be one of the best ways if you want to stay on air:

i think that's what i'm gonna do too if i ever find the courage ;)
edit: I had a zalman northbridge heatsink with 40mm papst to cool my ti4200.
would it work on my 9700pro as well? I really hate the zooming of that stock fan...

my ols his 9700pro can make 398/355 for benching with stock cooling and volts
most 8 pipe r300's will do atleast 370 on the core with good air. My current one does an incredible 348:( with 1.8vcore I can do 400. It load at 105F. pathetic.

My Manli 9700pro w/o mods - 380/350. With VGPU - 1.85 and VMEM - 3.3 I got 440/350. Still have to make VREF and VDDQ. I tried even 2.3 on the core - not helping me. Yet. My cooling is...

first hercules 97P does 380/340 on stock (dead)
second Hercules 97p does 380/335 on stock (460/400 with mods) dead, so bad :(
and
the last (not very good) hercules too, does 360/340 on stock
only 420/370 after v-mods and chilled water

I have got a Club 3D 9700pro running at 450/360 With VGPU at 2.05V, I got to redo the mem and I will probably mod the Vref then too. The core is watercooled by the way.
I did'nt know the one I had was that good. At 1.725 I could do 480 watercooled. I could'nt get the ram above 360 even with a volt mod. Good core not so good ram. I would have kept it if this Assus of mine would have gone above 227 with it.
