View Full Version : IC7-MAX3 on the way...how to tell what version?

I ordered an IC7-Max3 yesterday. I got it at a real good price, so, if I don't like it, I can easily resell it.
I currently have a P4C800-DX which I like a lot, however since I have BH5 memory chips I need more Vdimm, and I won't risk modding the board since I don't know how to do it properly. So, the logical thing to do was try the IC7-MAX3.
I've heard however that there have been problems with the MAX3, and a new version/revision has been released.
My question is, once I get my board, how do I know what version/revision the board is?
THanks,
Najib

There should be a sticker on the mobo with the rev number on it.

while there is a "version" with a fixed vdimm, im not sure if there is actually a new revision number, mine has fixed vdimm, and its v1.0, also, even on the "fixed" boards the Vtt does not work properly which makes the vdimm above 2.8 pretty useless anyway. The vmod for that looks simple enough, and ill probly do it myself next long weekend i have, i had similar expectations when buying my max3, the voltages dissapointed me, but other than that, its a wonderful board IMO
You can check if your MC64 is still there ;)

or you could just set hte volts to anything above 2.8 and see if it works...

Is this supposed BH-5 ram, the ram that you have in your sig? I doubt its bh-5 if it can't run 2-2-2-11 with 2.85v. I'm not even sure corsair made pc3500 with bh-5.

Corsair did make 3500 BH5.
However RAS to CAS 2 at only 2.85v is kind of unbelieveable.
