Hey

I have just recived my Abit AI7 so i can set Vdimm up to 3.2v istead of my 2.8v on my old IC7 Max2. Before i couldn't go higher than 217MHz 2-2-2-5, 5:4 (FSB270), and now with my AI7 and the 3.2v I can't even go 228Mhz 2-2-2-5, 5:4 (FSB284). I dont know what whent wrong? Is it my settings or som bad BH-5's?

we have to know whats your CPU too. Is your CPU can handle that FSB????

Frez what kind of 1:1 action are you seing with that RAM?

skate2snow

and what FSB can you do at 3:2

Ups, i shouldn't have taken mig sig off...

It's not the CPU, cuz if i set the divider to 3:2 it's stable.

I am testing right now, and it stable at 217MHz 2-2-2-5, 5:4, FSB270 @ 2.9v.

i think you need to LOW the volt. My are 2-2-3-6 and need to have 3.2V to run @230 2-2-2-6.so yours can do higher w/ less volt. But it can be your sticks are maxed out:(

FreZhm@ker

It doesn't matter if it's 3.0v or 3.2v. It won't complete a 3Dmark test anyway..

Anybody who can help me??

btw, lol great threat name! clocking clocking..:S i think i was sleeping! :D

man, try all the lower volt you can do, 2.7-2.75V looks like perfect for that MHz

You seem to be having similar problems to me, I haven't found a solution myself either, unfortunately. :(

I just tried that, and with 2.7v 220MHz 5:4, FSB275 i wouldn't boot up. 2.8v i can get into win, but i fails after 2 sec prime95. Same settings at 3v. it fails Prime95 after 5min.

I'm just trying some OCZ EL PC4200. How many V can i give them? 3.2?

dimm slot 1+3 - 225mhz 2-2-2-6
dimm slot 2+4 - 240mhz 2-2-2-6

AI7 has in even dimm slots :heh

at max 3.2v vdimm on AI7.. my 2x 512MB OCZ PC3500 Plat LE did 240mhz 2-2-2-6 at 3.2v vdimm and 1.65v vAGP 10hrs prime95 stable and 3hrs looping test #5 of memtest86 3.0 error free in dimm slot 2+4, 1+3 couldn't get past 225mhz

It didn't have any effekt to use dimm slot 2+4 istead of 1+3.

I have just tried with some Mushkin lvl2, wich i know can run 228MHz at 2.9v on a AMD rig. In my rig they won't even boot up at 220MHz @ 2.9v. I also tried 2.8v still it wouldn't boot up.

What is wrong with my rig? Is it the BH5? I also just tried some OCZ EL PC4200 and they would run 275MHz at 2.8v...

Sorry, this is not relate to this thread but want to know what is the difference of these memory. Which one is better. The price is about the same.

OCZ EL DDR PC-3500 Platinum Limited Ed (2 single of 256)
and
OCZ EL DDR PC-3500 Dual Channel Plat LE (2x256 kit)

Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,

Dual Channel Kit means that they were pre-tested to make sure that they work together on certain boards. Worth the extra few bucks IMO

I purchased Corsair XMS 3200LL 2x256 kit and they were rev 1.1 BH-5 sticks that were pushing out 245x10.5 on only 2.9 VDimm, worth the extra cost if you get some nice chips on those ram.

Unfortunately I've been losing faith in OCZ, seems like they're mainly for P4 boards isntead of AMD. I have OCZ 3700 EL 2x256 and they stink compared to my BH-5's.

That's probably why OCZ recommend the PC3500 or lower for AMD rigs...

Dead link?

I am just trying my OCZ LE PC3500 Platinum in a Asus P4C800 today. I think its the motherboard since the Mushkins also didn't work very good.

If it is my board, what du i then do? I cant afford a IC7 Max3..?

link works for me try changing GAT to

Game Accelerator = AUTO
Refresh Cycle Time = NORMAL
Read Delay = 6 clocks
Read Delay Adjust = DISABLED
Command Per Clock = DISABLED

Thx! It worked a little. I can run 224MHz 5:4, 2-2-3-6 at 2.9v stable. At 2-2-2-5 they need 3.1v to get stable. That isn't normal is it?

eva2000
01-18-2004, 07:17 PM
it's normal as BH-5 ram needs voltage

Well, might be they don't really like 2-2-2-5?

At least that does the trick with mine. At 2-2-3-6, they run Prime stable at 233MHz with only 2.7V.

Try it out. Still, for a P4 I'd recommend different sticks, like PC4000 or higher.

My BH5 mushkin does 236 1:1 @2/2/2/11 more than 5hrs prime @3.22v and 58mins under prime @240 1:1 @2/2/2/11 @3.28v and even then its my cpu crapping out as 200 x 12 craps out between 50~60mins so erm yeah

Runs 3D Mark fine at 242 1:1 same timings with 3.28v too. Really can't see why yours won't get higher

Best bet is to run as much voltage through these sticks as possible... I'm running my 2x256MB 3500 sticks on my Shuttle AN50R and when using 3.4v mine still nicely stable at 251MHz using 5,2,2,2 :D

Well, I snapped, I'm still not sure if it's the motherboard that's limiting mine, so I just ordered a 1Gb kit of HyperX PC-3000. :D

Hi,

I use a chiller at -35ÂșC and my P4 2.8c is at 3.95 [282] (1.7v)

The mems, OCZ PC3500 Dual Channel Platinum, are now running at 225 (2-2-2-5) @ 3.2v for daily use, stable as rock!

Since the vmod I haven't pushed the mems, but I'll try with 1:1 to see until they go. I'll post results soon.

Bye

Jorge Lopes
