I was seeking the web for the ideal board tu put inside my prommy, and I found this beauty...

2,3v vcore
3,3v vdimm
2,1v vagp

From what I've read in the net, thje early reviews said that this boars sucked, but there are many updates to the bios from that time...

It seems a spectacular motherboard, but I want first to know your impressions about it...

thankx!

Voltage fluxuation are bad still
I am not sure if "Bios Monkey" tests the bios or writes them, prob both.
Memory timing is anything but, you dont have control
MSI boards dislike ES processors

A bios flash can disable the board and will need RMA. The bios is soldered in. I have killed a recently with bios update.

I have been working closely with MSI, they tried to turn things around and produce a overclocking board yet fell short of the mark. Many things need to be fixed.

So, what are my options..?

I have a 2,8 M0 and I want to get the most out of it...

I have a P4C800, but after the vdimm mod, and although I have an enermax 460W, the 12v rail gets very low (10,5 peak in mbm5)...It also makes a stupid hiss from the capacitors zone every time that I stretch the cpu...

The vcore fluctuation is also high...

Are there any GOOD mobo's for P4 now??????

I'm with an IC7-G right now, but although the vcore doesn't fluctuate, my Oc went down the drain...

I starting to loose my faith in Intel's system...:( :(

Try Abit AI7.

AI7 has poor memory scores compared to a 875p system...:(

AI7 can enable full PAT up to 250fsb which gives you 3.5Ghz.

If you are on air cooling that would be the way to go (I don't know what you have).

I think this answers your question...

..as you can see, I'm seeking for 300 FSB...250 is way less....

Ok sorry you have supercooling.

P4C800E it is then.

IC7-Max3, P4C800E, DFI Lanparty B

Gigabyte has a new 875 board out, gotta check it out still.

Modding is needed to get the maximum out of the mobo's

And how about Epox?

I had that board for about 3 months.
I thought it was a good board...
till I got a P4P800 then oh my god, it's like the world turned from black and white, to color and I could see again.

my FSB's skyrocketd, my stability was through the roof, and my scores were alot better...
then with the MSI.

believe me, I bought into the high voltages of the NEO, but boy did I feel like I had the wool pulled over my eyes when I finally got a different board and realized how much time I wasted with the NEO when I could have been doing so much better.

Fugger: How do you like the DFI Lanparty B compared to the IC7-Max3/P4C800E?

I'd like to know your thoughts on that as well. And, does it have a working PCI/AGP lock?

as for 2.8C's, in teh msi mine hit 269Mhz on air, in a ic7 max 3 i can't get it stable above 264Mhz. The msi ain't all bad, afaik the only bios that killed the msi board was the 2nd bios released, maybe third, something liek that, i've flashed mine several times and not had a problem, but undervolting is an issue, but thats kinda the case on many boards, slight vcore issues on asus , mem major probs on ic7 max 3, really gets on my nerves as these boards are supposed to be prescott ready yet they have trouble providing the voltage required.

Just want a decent board ffs, they came out what, 8-9 months ago and still no perfect or near to board. I still don't get how abit can give a an7 with 3.2v but for the P4 they pump up the price to give you a pos plastic shroud and this supposedly makes it safe to use 3.2vdimm, though it obviously isn't needed, and they didn't get it working anyway :@

I'm having a bad day, i brought an epox and just hoping it ain't a rev 2.2

Yes of course it does.

Personally I love the Rev 2.0 4PDA2 series. Got a 4PDA2V here and its an absolute beauty. Vdimm is bang on the money and vcore is good to 1.85v too. Voltage regulation is excellent, memory bandwidth is damn good too for a springdale - higher then nearly every canterwood ive seen in a direct mhz compare. Certainly beats the P4C800 anyway. Close both CPU and ram better too.

Just make sure you get the rev 2.0 though :).

Test it in some real benchmarks, don't compare using Sandra Bandwidth.

I agree with FUGGER, the DFI benches were fantastic, and with some vmods on it  It'll eat 3DMark for breakfast! raw :D

I like the DFI a lot untill I ran into a problem with my EE ES chip not showing L3 cache consistantly. This is a problem of the board as I tested 2 different ones. If you look on the DFI website BIOS section you will see a volt mod needed to run prescott/EE corectly.

The DFI is a great board, very strong with decent voltages.

I will be able to do more complete testing once a good fix is in place. I thought it was the bios at first but DFI has done a hard mod to correct the problem.

Well we need to get the modders on the scene. Charge that DFI up.:D

Is this the B version fugger or the first one? thanks
