I already have a abit ic7max3, i am not very pleased with it, unstable.
I want to try another board. The main purpose will be overclocking.
choices:
-DFI Lanparty 875B (is it better then the first version?)
-DFI infinity 875
-Asus pc4 800-E
-Epox 4pca3i+(rev 2.0 or higher)
or are there better motherboards with the 875 chipset out there?

ASUS P4C800 DLX(non-E, at high FSB its unstable). P4C800 dlx is the very best OCing board w/ P4P800 dlx that the only difference is the PAT. The only problem there is the Vdimm max is only 2.85V, but you can do the easyest mod to put it at 3.6 i think

So you mean
The p4c 800 deluxe?because there is also a p4c 800-E deluxe.
What is difference between the -E models and the regular models?

-E is RAID0, but youve said the best OC board, but at high FSB(300FSB around) it comes unstable, so i whould say the P4C800 DLX

Ummm, doesn't the non "-E" version also usually have stability problems above 300MHz FSB? Just like all the i875 motherboards?

It can, but ive just look at several article and the big difference is RAID0 it have a little voltage difference i think
only difference between p4c800 dlx (non e) and p4c800 is that the non dlx has no raid and firewire?!
no difference in oc ability?
i ask because i don't need this extras!
Im pretty happy with my MAX3. My CPU only does 240FSB with stock voltage, but the board is stable. The new "versjons" of the MAX3 will do vdimm up to 3.2v with no mods.
I have some TwinMOS PC3200 ram, that did 212MHz 2-2-2-6 on my old BH7 with 3.2v, on my new MAX3 it will do 228MHz 2-2-2-6 with 2.8v, that's pretty good! :)

I would also like to know, i just want to overclock, don't need all the fancy stuff.
Is there a difference between the p4c800 and the p4c800 deluxe in overclockability?

Halo_Master what's wrong with your Max3? I love mine, it would do 315 MHz FSB 100% stock and now it's at 330 MHz FSB Prime95 stable. My original board did 325 MHz with just watercooling but it fried because oen of the clips for the Northbridge heatsink came out.
All i865PE/i875P boards have that stutering problem past 300 MHz FSB but that's easily solved by raising the AGP/PCI speeds.

It is broken. You lovei t, i didn't. There are some good revisions and there are some bad revisions around of this motherboard.I had a bad one.

I thought raising the PCI/AGP was bad if using an ATI based vidcard
And is there any way of knowing what board revisions were good and wich weren't?

the 4pca3+ is just fine for clocking...3,2v VMem without any mods is a nice thing...mine works fine up to 303mhz - above my cpu is maxed out @air...:D
btw. afaik there is no 4pca3i+...4pca3i or 4pca3+...:p:
