just shocked the hell out of me. She knows my A64 died on me a few days ago and she also knows I'm bummed about the cold weather we are having and not being able to utilize it.

So what does she do... she suggests that I just charge a new chip. :) I usually don't charge any of my computer hobby items because that could get way too tempting with how often new and cool stuff comes out. That's really a big reason the wifey puts up with all this 'cause she knows that it's just my extra hobby money or money I work overtime for to specifically blow on computer junk.

So for her to suggest this... well... it brings a tear to my eye. :D Needless to say, A64 3000+ from NewEgg.com is already ordered.

Should have it Wednesday, which is the day our high temperature is 0f and our low is going to be -10f. :)

haha, hopefully my A64 setup will be done around that time too.

Course I doubt I'll bust open the window, but it might happen.

An A64 3400+ would be pushing it(even for the nice wifey). ;)

I was tempted for the A64 3200+ but in the end I just decided to not be greedy and accept the kind offer(without pissing her off). :D

Can't wait to try my new AN50R too. I was going to have the board all mod'd and ready to go but I just want to make sure it works first. No need moding something that doesn't work right.

Nothings free man....nothings free... ;)

You just may have ALOT more work cut out for you the next few nights... ;) ;) ;)

At least thats my "punishment" when the future Mrs. gets in a really "giving" mood...:)

I wish Hollywood... I wish. ;)

We have a 15 month old and a 3 1/2 year old... there hasn't been that kind of "punishment" in years. :(

At any rate, I get to play with my new A64 on Wednesday... :( (though, I'd rather be punished :))

My wife hates my computer "the Other Woman" as she calls it.

"You love that computer more than me!"

Whatever you do, don't respond yes to that question. :D

Sounds reasonable, its been proven that men speak about women and machines in the same way.

Men speak about women and anything the same way now that I think about it, whenever you have decided, for reasons unknown, to name an inanimate object, 9/10 times it'll be with a female name I'm betting.

Lord, we're nearly as odd as them. :D

Should be getting the chip... wait... first thing's first...

NO, I'm not up for trading. And yep, she does have a couple 1/2 sisters but they are both married. ;)

Now then, I should be getting the chip this afternoon and I'm taking Friday off since we are supposed to, maybe be having the coldest day we've ever had... can you say -20f. And -40f to -50f windchill.

Can't wait... really can't wait! :D

Tried it in the Shuttle AN50R(non-mod'd atm) and 2350MHz was all it could do with -10c to -15c coolent.

I'm going to mod it tonight(hopefully) and see what it can do with a little more voltage going to it, and the memory.

Just tried it at 236x9 and it failed Prime95 in 2 steps... seems the memory may be holding me back.
