View Full Version : Drivers?
Ok, Ive tried the drivers that were said to be the best. The ones listed on this site (http://driver2.sis.com/graphic/gpu/xabre/). xabre308.exe to be exact. For some reason, the system wont load with the drivers installed! It freezes on booting into windows. If I boot with the BS Windows drivers, I can get in, and blah blah no problems. If I try the drivers, no go.
Are these the best drivers to try here? or am I going with the wrong ones?
Soooo.... no clue what the right drivers to use are?
I can more then likely figure out the problem if I can say for sure I have the right drivers.......

It times out for me too, at the moment. It did work the other day, and is copied straight out of the results thread.

Thanks for the driver link nico...... I dont want to sound like a princess here and ask for everything but do I need to change the bios of these cards to overclock and if i do what utility should I use and what bios..... Sorry guys but am anxious to play with the card but I dont have too much time on hand...... thanks...
No need to change the bios, just make sure you have the utilities ticked as part of the driver install. This will bring up an icon in your tool bar, from there you select 3d wizard. Then the overclocking tab of the 3d wizard proggy, gives you options for mem clock and engine clock.
If you want more than 250 clock speed, goes to windows 'Start' menu and run 'regedit'. Use the 'find' option from the drop down edit menu, to find 'clk'. From there you have the SIS clock settings. If you change the second set of '250's to 350, they should start with 332 eclk and 332 mclk, then your 3d wizard o/c panel max will now be 350.

aha, I already tried to find those registry entries, but I found nothing usefull on Sis or Xabre...
So far I've reached 225 mem 220 core, but I'm trying to find a stable cpu speed at the same time... :wiggle:
