some demon possessed me and this past week I've ordered a Gigabyte K8Npro, Athlon64 3400+ rtl, 2 1GB Musking LvLII packs, and 1 512mb Mushkin LvLII dual pack(for benching :O, who the hell needs seperate benching ram anyway especially this expensive stuff).
I think I'm a BH-5 miser b/c I'm starting to hoarde bh-5 memory for the apocolypse or something

well the ram I found in the dead of night posted on the newegg.com refurb bin. All the ram came to $550 or so
I think it was like $212.50 for the 1gb pack ea. and $125 for the 2x256mb pack
And actually, aside from the massive outlay of Cash I think hoarding BH-5 to sell later is actually a good investment :). Plus I can test it and keep the fastest.

I do have a descent job so the CC should still be able to be payed off this month.

the cpu was like $440 at zipzoomfly or whatever googlegear calls themselves now
and the mobo was $65 in refurb bin at newegg.com

I'm selling stuff this month to recover some $$$
a P4 3.0C retail should fetch $230 or so(too bad forsale section is down here)
Selling some KHX 1gb BH-5 PC3200 dual pack too

buidling a PC for her brother b/c he hooked a generator up to his farmhouse when their power went off and a surge killed just about everything in his house :O
So for $500 I'm building a nice AXP/NF2 setup, applebred at 2.2ghz, using my Xabre200 from the competition, a 30GB HD, combo CDRW/DVD drive. 512mb ram etc... Should be a nice little puter.

hey jnav. I hear you on hording bh-5. Silly me just spent $200 on a 512 kit of OCZ Plat LE. I loved my first 2 sticks so much I figured better get these before they are gone. I added these 2 512 kits to a kit of pc3500 KHX bh-5, and a kit of XMS pc3500 bh-5. Then there is also my 2x512 of OCZ pc3500 Gold, and 2x256 of OCZ pc3700 Gold rev2 I am beind you though at only 3.5 gigs of memory. Still though EVA is king at over 20gigs!!:eek:

I also know the thought of the wife wanting blood. That new 9800pro, and the 512kit of Plat LE wasn't cheap. Had to sell a 2.4c, IC7, and 9700pro to make up for it. Sucks too cause I still need that A64 cpu and mobo I have been meaning to buy. Plus 1 gig of levelII sounds nice about now!!;)

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!
2x512 XMS 3500, 4x256 Mushkin BLII, 2X256 XMS 3700, 2x256 XMS 3200, 6 Generic 256 sticks of 2700, 2 Generic 512 sticks of 2700, and a couple of gig's of pc-133 in folding rigs.

this is my ram that is NOT in use right now. I have 2x512mb of Corsair PC3500C2 in my DFI testing
I have 2x512mb bh-5 hardcorecooling.com house brand in my prommy/IS7/2.4c combo, and 2x256 lvl2 mushking 3500 in my new A64 rig
NOT counting the 5 gigs I bought today :O or the 1gig of HyperX 3200 bh-5 that is yet to be delivered too :O

well I got most of it but having probs with a few of the dimms
both 1gb pairs of the lvl 1 won't even post in any of the mobos I have.
2 pairs of the LvL2 are bad, specifically, in each pair one dimm is bad. Now it wouldn't be so bad but one has purple hs and the other has orange/gold spreaders. :O
I guess it won't matter to me but I was going to sell these
