View Full Version : What harddrive to get for HIGH FSB“s?
I have a WD raptor now that is bottlenecking my system... after 265fsb it cant find my hardrive BUT if i put it down to 260 it works.... I heard Hipro talking about this... so i am getting a IDE drive for now.. what brand should i get that can take high FSB“s? i thinking in size range 40-60gb.....

PATA tend to handle the high BUS speeds better. Not too such which ones handle it the best.

I think it doesn't matter. I have an old, old WD 2.5Gb, 5400rpm, that I used for some testing, and I got to 310.

Yeah it only flips out when you use SATA. If you wanted to be really safe you could pick up a 66mhz PCI card (think it would work with even SATA drives at high fsb).

That's what I have. 2 of them in a Raid0 array, but can't go above 302. They are nice! Good choice. :)
Note: I can't pass 302 with Raid0. It's not because of that drive.
yea my goal is to run this 2,6 @ 300fsb with the 5:4 divider and 5 2 2 2 timings :D
any nice IDE drive should be fine
