I just did the vdimm and vdd mod on my 8rda+, and it was all working great. Then while measuring vdt one time, my hand slipped, and the computer shut down. Now it boots with post code FF. Any chance it is alive? or any possible way to revive it?
Also, could anything else be fried besides the mobo? I was in bios when this happened...so could it be that just my bios is shot?
Finally, what new socket A mobo should I buy if this one is gone for good?

Nice helpfull, pertinent responses fellows:rolleyes:
I would remove power from the board, (either unplug from wall or power header on board) Remove the CMOS Battery, set the jumper to clear, and leave it that way for at least 24 hours, you may get lucky.... A slip doesn't instantly signify Dead hardware, however not good odds, but certainly worth a shot...
As for what new board, I would have said NF7-S without hesitation but they seem to be not up to par on the recent builds, Couple of good threads on the DFI boards which seem to be really doing well, worth a read, may help you decide...

ah well, Good Luck, spair board isn't a bad thing, DFI sounds pretty interesting, really tempting but I'm trying to kick the socket A habit..

Yeah, it would be nice to move along, but college has taken all my money, so I don't have much of an option.

so i was really messed up and never went to bed and at like 11 this morning my girlfriend drove me home i had no commen sense and decided to do a volt mod. i ended up accidentally flipping my mobo off of the workbench with the athlon 64 in it and all. the mobo cracked on the bottom corner and is scratched, but the light still comes on!! haha...unfortunatly, it wont boot. the cpu is fine luckily. i think i get the most retarded modder award. i feel so stupid... PLus, yesterday, my nf7-m just stopped working. The second damn time an nf7-m has pooped out on me and i wasnt even overcloking and its completly non-modded!!! motherboards suck.

Nice, glad it worked out, I had a kt333 soltek, did essentially same thing, took that thing a couple weeks but it did revive.

ouch:( same goes for it though, Had a 512 stick of kingston SDRam, ran fine for months, one day it seemed to just quit, tried other slots in the board, but didn't have a spair board so didn't test, later i found out it worked on a different board just fine...
Maybe you'll be lucky twice, You've tried switching mem slots? possibly you killed one on the board..

Yeah, I tried switching slots. It crashes as soon as it attempts to load windows, however the other stick works just fine. Odd, since both sticks are exactly the same, and were in the mobo the entire time together.
