Hi guy's , i'm planning on getting a xp1600 from new egg and would like to know if you can do the old pencil trick to unlock it. or is there another way you have to do it. to connect the l1 bridges..

The most common way I've read ppl's doing it is with rear window defogger kits. That seems to work the best.

you may want to take a gander at highspeedpc's (http://www.highspeedpc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HSPC&Product_Code=XPkit&Category_Code=OC) unlocking kit.

I use this kit personally and it's very easy, and best thing... does void your warranty (since none of the things used to unlock adhere in any way to the chip permanently ;) ).

i will look into getting one of those kits it really looks neat. the magnifying glass sure would help out alot .guess no more pencil tricks..
