Hi guys... I'm wondering if you could tell me if these temps are too good to be true...
I'm running an unlocked xp2200 at 12.5x145 for an effective 1812mhz...
I'm using an SLK-800 with a 40cfm Sunon fan on an Abit KG7-RAID...
My temps idle vary anywhere from 34C to whatever my case temp goes up to with Vcool software running...
When at 100% load It doesn't go over 42C even when running Prime95 for hours or Folding@Home for hours...
These temps are really surprising because I was expecting them to be sky high... I mean my old 1.4Ghz Thunderbird would hover around 39C idle and up to 52C under load....

My ambient is around 72F...
Edit: I get the same results with MBM, VIA HM, VCool...
Even when I reboot into BIOS i get same temps...
This is on an Abit KG7-RAID which uses the AMD-761 chipset I believe...
Ok... I also just turned off VCool and at Idle it's at 38C with a case temp of 34C....
Ok it seems to like to stick to 4C over my case temp... case temp jumped to 35C and CPU temp jumped to 39C...
Wish I had a KT333 chipset so I could overclock this sucker...
Yep, temps are too good to be true. Your running an kg7 which doesn't read the internal diode so all your readings are off the in slot thermisitor which is inaccurate. If its stable, I wouldn't worry about it.

Ok.... I guess I just have a really good chip or perhaps I didn't have my SLK-800 placed correctly on my 1.4Ghz Thunderbird...
With the case on and after a few more minutes of Folding@Home I've managed to hit 39C for my case temp and 49C for the XP2200...
But when I take the cover off and turn on my 8" floor fan, I have a case temp of 34-35C and load temp of 41-42C for the chip...

That doesn't sound impossible....at default voltage. If you were runnining 170 or so FSB with a little juice up its arse..you would see a big increase. I hit 46c underload with my Vapochill.:D

I concur w/ TheDude. I've had my 2200+ Aircooled @ 1.9ghz and I've had 37C idle temps. Load of 41C. I did have a 30" house fan set on medium blowing in my case, but... yes. :P
i got mine at 16 max last night :D
ghetto duct mod from fan to window ( winter gets colder outside :P)
