A single black ice xtreme from DD. And the air gets slightly toasty. But temps stay all good. BTW... Look at the temp gain I got from adding water wetter. A capfull of water wetter also removed the air from my lines. Water wetter rules

yea, but water wetter stinks like hell.

tru, but for these temps who cares? Also, once the system is closed i cant smell it.

Won't condensation make on the top of the block directly underneath the Acrylic top? Reason I ask is I got a DDM4 from a guy that was running it with a chiller and half of the top of the copper block had bad discoloration.

I have not installed it as of yet, and I am just lookin for some clues on what to watch out for.

Nice rig :D

Question....you got -6C with pelts...I didnt realize they would go that low. Best I had seen was in the teens to say 4-5C.

Nicely done.

Also, whats the "CPU Kernal" listed in the MBM.

i was wondering that myself. I think it is the main mosfet temperature that sends power directly to the CPU. The alarm goes off at 90C so im ok.

no, because that side is hot not cold. Condensation is not a problem because copper can handle water easily. The problem is the circuitry. I just went hog wild with the conformal coating and Konform spray I bought. I would be happy to tell anyone what i did in detail. It seem to work. No condensation so far.

How bout posting us some pics of your condensation proofing bro...me want to see it before I install my MCW50-T.

Thanks..

sorry, I didnt take any pics while installing it because I didnt have my cam at the time. But i can tell you in detail how to condproof.

first.

I need to know what materials you have on hand. And i mean everything in detail. Because this will affect your methods.

I highly doubt you are getting those temps........is that loaded at all?

I know it isn't overclocked an all, but it still seems low for a TEc setup.

Slickthellama,

Them temps you are presenting here got me interested. Just got two questions:
1.- What's the temp like loaded @ stock speed & Vcore, and what CPU do you use?
2.- What's the temp like when loaded @ max OC and at what Vcore?
With the answers to these two questions I can figure out myself how well it does at a given wattage, and what the decline in performance is like at a given heat increase.

sorry if you've been wondering for a while. My RAM is DEAD and my motherboard is totally screwed up. I just bought a new mobo but I need new ram. OK to ans ur questions...

1st.. I've gotten as low as -11C at stock volts and stock CPU spd. During load I AVG ~ 5C-7C after an hour of prime95

2nd.. During Idle at 275FSB, 1.65 (1.62ACTUAL) I get ~-2C~-0C.
@ load I get ~10C-15C depending on the air temp of the room (which varies greatly).

If you are interested my setup is the following...

Maze 4-1 CPU block (478)
226W 15.6V pelt running on 12V
M4 Cold Plate
Aspire 500W ATX PSU (for pelt and RAD fans)
1/2''ID 3/4"OD tubing
DangerDen Black ICE XTREME RAD
2 Evercool ICE 120mm fans
80mm diameter res.
Hydor L30 Pump.
6' Tygon (anti-Kink) tubing.
Precut DD neoprene kit.

Measured from what?

The crappy software readings or an actual probe of your own?

Thanx for the info!

I reackon 2 heatercores in parallel will bring temps down a few degrees more, + my average room temp is around 20°C. Think I'm also gonna attempt a TEC project. Have allready tried phase-change (chiller), but insulation is just too much hassle. (Much more parts to insulate)

What do you guys thinks is the better block (for S478)? The Maze4-1 or the Swifty MCW5000 T?

When I had my system up and running I got -35C idle in MBM and -8C load. I also had chilled water cooling the hot side so that may have made a diff

I know it's -6C because my thermal probe says -18C on the cold plate. So -6C practically sucks.

How much do these things add to your electric bill?
