Welp thats not an overclocked chip, it's a stock 2.485. It has a 15 multiplier and a 333 bus.

This entry on the orb is an oddball
Unknown CPU 2314Mhz (http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=4214217)
Possibly the new XP?

According to [H], the chip is overclocked. Here's Kyle's statement:
"AMD 2.48GHz (15*165) - EPoX 8K3A+, 1 x 512MB Corsair PC3200 DDR Ram, Maxtor 40GB ATA133 HD, Windows XP Professional; VIA 4n1 Driver v4.42; ATi Catalyst Driver v02.2; NVIDIA Detonator Driver v30.82. This is an overclocked system running with an overclocked AGP bus at 82MHz and PCI bus at 41MHz."
He is most likely using a 2.0GHz Tbred (15x133.33=2000), soon to be known as the 2400+, and he just pushed the FSB to 165.
Here's another quote:
"We also had the opportunity to test a Thoroughbred core CPU that is yet to be launched and we clocked it at a very non-stock speed of 2.485GHz. (More on the TBred later this week.)"

Well there goes that theory:D Thanks for clearing that one up John:)
Looks like a good overclocking cpu in that case, It should do well with super cooling. Or did Kyle use a Prometeia or somthing:D

I am willing to bet that Kyle used straight water cooling or even aircooling. I've been looking into this and Rage3D commented on his PC at QuakeCon here (http://www.rage3d.com/articles/quakecon2002/?page=2). The odd thing about this comment is that they wouldn't give away any of its specs, which is often the result of a NDA being enforced. Also, this case obviously has no room for a refrigeration unit of any kind to reside, so he must be using a less effective means of cooling (unless he changed cases which is entirely possible).
Of course, I could be totally wrong, but the sentiment that a 2.5+GHz Athlon(using anything short of dry ice or liquid nitrogen) could be in our hands within weeks is promising:D

Knowing how [H] likes to present direct comparsion's reviews..and have them hold up under "fire" from other sites I would bet all were on air...if not they would have stated that piece of info IMO

That would ba 2600+ 2 gig = 2600+. My new 2400/2600 support in 8k5a2 bios reads 1900 as 2400.

Epox is mistaken (http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q3/020821/athlonxp-01.html) . The 2600+ is in fact 2133MHz, while the 2400+ is 2000MHz. It looks like Tom's got their 2600+ to post at 2880MHz! I'm still reading their article, but this looks like a very capable chip.
