When I was upping the vcore on my duron, I found that my temps went way up when i hit 1.7v. In my case I have an aero7+ with one case fan in front intake and one on the side exhaust. My system at stock vcore idles around 32 and full load is about 38. When I needed more vcore I started putting it up by.5. The temps seemed to be going up a little to much, however it wasnt to much of a jump. Until I put it up to 1.7, my idle temps are around 45 and full load is about 55. Is something wrong or do I just need to get more airflow? better hs?
Thanks

You are just breaking the thermal barrier of your heatsink. In simple words, it can't conduct the heat from the processor fast enough to remove it effectively. If you keep raising your Vcore, your temperatures will jump.
It may be due to the system airflow too, I can't be certain.
And 55c full load is fine.

Well I might try taking off some of the AS3 to make sure I didnt put too much. Then I think Im going to add an old cpu fan to add to some exhaust in the back. Ill check back when Im done doing that. However I had always been told that you really shouldnt have temps over 50c. I am running my cpu at stock vcore 2ghz for normal use, and the higher vcore is for benching. So what would you recommend as a top safe temp for benching?
Thanks

The maximum on-die temperature of those CPUs is over 70c. So up to 70c is 'safe' for benching. It's more of a question how YOU feel about your CPU running at 70c.

the very top is 65C. mine does 27C idle and 53C full load w/stock cooling, and its entyrely safe ;)

It's a duron...it's over 70c and the motherboards don't read the in-die temperature, they are very innaccurate..he has room. If he has the courage to risk it.

Yeah I think Im going to go a little higher, however I am trying to bring down the temps and no dice so far. So If I cant bring down the temps I will just proceed with caution.
