Can someone recommend a good PCI SATA controller in order to use with AMD64 system ? I believe that it has to be 33/66 PCI in order to be able to perform good on high PCI speeds.

I have found the Highpoint SATA RAID 1520 controller with this characteristics (Host Side Interface 32bits, 33MHz/66MHz / Disk Interface SATA / (with RocketHead 100 converter) / 2 channels / Disk Connection 2 disks (mexium) / Supported RAID Levels RAID 0 / 1 / 0+1 / JBOD / Supported OS Win.98/ME/NT4.0/2000/XP/Linux (SuSE, Red Hat, Caldera, Turbo), and FreeBSD RAID Management Tool / RAID Configuration and Management / RocketRAID 1520 card 2 Serial ATA cables)

Will this be ok? What are u guys using ?

It was my understanding that the SATA bus runs on its own 100mhz bus...but is affected by overclocking just like the PCI. I'm no expert in this area though.

Lol, I dont want a 6 channel one, I just need a 2 port that will be able to withstand high pci speeds and that will be reliable to keep :)

The 3Ware Escalade cards rock with support from 2-12 drives. They are also PCI 2.2 complient allowing 64bit/ 66MHz busmaster useage.

I just picked up the promise tx2 plus, or something liket hat, is has one ide port and 2 sata ports, will work in both 33 or 66Mhz mode, and was quite cheap £45, no raid mode, couldn't find raid version but was probo a good £10-20 more.

NOt tried it yet, will later today though
