I'm overclocking and I want to test for stability. So I start PiFast and I get this error: Not convergent in SQR? Whats the cause of the error, and how to solve this?

By clocking lower, using higher voltage, better cooling, changing timings bla blah blah. The ordernary stuff...

Too bad my Vcore was already at its max, Vcore 1.85. Guess I'll have to wait till I've got money to order a WC set. When I've got WC I'll do the voltmod and see how high it will go.

Asus A7N8X-X
AMD Xp 2500+ @ 2.4Ghz Stable
Coolermaster X-Dream, Temps: 40-45
Hercules AIW 9800SE @ Pro 8x1

Tweaked!

Actually, if you think that it's stable w/ the cpu overclock, then try relaxing your ram timings. You can always tighten them up a little at a time after you get it to start passing the tests.

Whats all your settings at right now?

Plus, try lowering your multi some and running a test. If it passes, then raise it back up a notch, and test again.

My CPU is locked so no change possble here. My 24/7 setting is: FSB: 218, Vcore: 1.8, Ram @ 83% 181Mhz, Timings: Aggresive.

My goal is to reach 2.5 Ghz.

That would mean FSB: 227
So when I set memory to 81% its still running @ 181 Mhz

Which way do I go to relax the timings? (noob question)

Higher the Cas value in bios, the ras-to-cas, ras precharge and tras. Maybe you got something like Rcd, etc instead of that i wrote above, check your manuall and it will say what is what there, so i say set them manually instead of the preconfig one you can chose of..
I don't have any energy to open a pdf right now and check your mb :P

You cold use memtest86 to see where it stops. For example running 1:1 (100%) or memory faster then fsb and see where it hits the wall.
