Going to be doing some swapping and modding some parts and cases over the next week, and I will be switching to a new mobo (DFI LP NFII Rev B. :)) from my nf7-s, so I will be doing a complete OS reinstall. It's been over a year, I'm due. Anyway, while I'm modding the case it will go in, I still wanna get it up and running, but feeling a bit lazy and don't really wanna go through all the work of lining up the mounting holes of the mobo to the wood. So could I just set it on there? Is that alright? Seeing how wood is non conductive and all?

thats fine. id make atleast a minute amount of space. i.e. dont screw trhe mobo down to the wood.. it needs soem psace under for lil resistors and a slight space for air.. like maybe 1/16 of an inch

Ya, usualy it's fine but somtimes motherboards have been known to not work if they screws aren't in and stuff because they somtimes use that as a ground for some goofy reason (not so much with newer motherboards though).

Good. I don't intend to keep it there long, a couple days max. But just incase there was to be a big big problem doing that.
