yes, it will, you'll need a decent sized rad after it.

I read a review about the mcw and the dude there said it just added 2c to his loop...

It all depends onw here you measure the temp, and what the setup is.

If the radiator is before the temp probe, it won't make much difference, and if the radiator is good it won't make much difference.

Keep us updated. Be sure to post pics of it setup on your card.

For most setup's adding this onto a rig's CPU loop is not a good idea. You need a BIG raddy to pull the extra heat away, and some bigger fans would not hurt either.

guys,

i just got mine yesterday, i was about to install it but this thing requires a di-electric grease. Would an all-purpose grease ( more like an automotive grease) be ok to use?

Depends on whether that grease will inhibit pin contact and current.

Dont let the impatience grab ya to hard, because you mess up with a tec and it could spell disaster for the entire riggy.

I wanted to jam my MCW50-T on asap, but waited on the dialectric grease first.

They sell enough of those things, they should consider adding a small tube of grease with the order, and if need be, up the price a couple of bucks. Sucks if you order one and forget the grease, then ya gotta wait on that to come in after the tec gets there.

Doenst hurt to seal the area using silicone either.

yeah i think youre right. im too itch to try this baby on my rig. i guess i really have to wait for a right grease. if i wont find anywhere, i may have to order again via international. thanks man.

Hell and fire...
Thats why I buy dangerden. They include dielectric grease with their peltiers by default.

No do not use an all purpose grease. Dielectric grease can be bought at almost any auto parts store and is cheap insurance. A tube the size of a toothpaste tube for $5 or $6 and it lasts a long time.

A few of my friends have had DD stuff and it wasnt the best until you added some work to it.

2 out of 5 blocks had to be lapped as they only made contact in a few places across the die.

odd. I have never seen such from DD. Look at my block. It's right out of the box and does -6C.

Yeh, I read over your thread there...was impressed with the temps you were getting....-6C is nice with pelts.

Like I said there, I didnt realize they would push the temps that low. You got pics of how you did your condensation proofing btw?

***EDIT***

OMG! I just realized that his reading is -27C...I didnt catch that the first time through this thread as I ignored the "-" due to the glare on the pic. Geez, I never thought about the pelts pushing temps this low before. Anyone got a MCW462-UHT mounted....if so what temps ya rocking?

You got to -6 (Slickthellama) I saw by yer thread...have ya gotten any lower or is that the wall for your setup? Are ya using distilled + antifreeze (car)?

Ok first off... I think it says -.027 i mean -27? That is like phase change.... Not possible. TECs dont operate at that low temps. And a 80W.. I dont think so. Also. I had temps of 4C when I used distilled water. But I had lots of air in the lines. I could not for the life of me figure out why. Then I realized... SURFACE TENSION. So I picked up some water wetter from Murrays Auto Shop. It is supposed to relieve surface tension and thus create more surface area for heat exchange... And thus cools better. I put a CAPFULL! not cupfull... only a capfull. And i still have a whole lot of it left. Like enough for 20 more capfulls. But voila! The lines cleared up in 5 minutes. And temps dropped to 6C and my temp monitor is telling me the lowest it has been at -12C. So at some point it got pretty cold. I hope this helps ya.

That -27c was done not installed yet, open air.
