Well, I ordered a Mach I and just found out about the issues it has with the P4C800 Deluxe (reset holding). I have one of these.:(

My question is: If I start the system @ stock speeds, will it damage my CPU if running it while the evaporator is still starting to cool down?
I wanna know this cause I was thinking on booting @ stock and then overclock w/ ClockGen to desired settings: like gaming, benching, etc. Since who needs 3+Ghz for Internet browsing!:D

No it wont really damage your cpu...the p4 will throttle but its not too healthy

Id suggest getting a second psu (can get a used one for $20) and then you can first start your mk1 (shorting 2pins on molex) and then you can start your system as soon as the unit gets cold.

there is no way you can kill a cpu if you havent changed the voltage PERIOD.

First of all - I have an 875P w/ a Mach I - using it w/ an outside power supply is great, no problems.

Secondly, in case you don't - the chip won't be damaged @ stock voltage or near it - but at crazy voltages you may have issues. I would suggest against it.

Man, that sux! :( I really didn't wanna have to deal w/ 2 PSU's and getting a Mk II is out of the question. I wish Asus had a solution for this thing, but I think that's a Canterwood/Springdale problem, not the board itself.
I think I'll either cancel the Mk I or sell my P4C800+2.4C and go back to a NF7+2500.
