Hi, my Prommie Mach1 sensors been messed up for a while, so i can have a windows temp of -30°C but the LCD on the prommie reads 70°C and it keeps dropping and rising tripping off that loud anoying alarm

Anyway to disable the alarm? :)

Thanks.

There IS a way to disable the alarm - look up old posts about people modding their Mach I's - they know how to disarm it (I don't).

I have been looking up thru the old posts, but from what i have read they are getting cold below -50 temps, thus they put a resistor in to set the tep 5C above. I want the alarm off completely, even the lcd if need be.

Anyway todo that?
Thanks.

Can't be turned off completely. All u can do is open the controller and desolder the alarm beeper.

remove the sensor wires from the controller and put a 100kohm resistor in it place (across terminals 7 & 8).

the controller will be tricked into thinking it has woking temp sensor connected. not sure what 100kohm equates too .. prob around -10 deg C.

BTW: check the wiring first, sounds like a broken wire somewhere. the connections to the controller are a bit dodgy at best.

you can replace the sensor, and run a new wire to the controller.
i have the ohms and thermistor part number at home needed to get it working again.

Thanks alot, sounds better than unsoldering the alarm. I'll check the wire to the controller right now just incase.

Thanks bowman, sounds like a plan. So...how would i go about this? Opening up the block, removing the neoprene and installing this new thermistor? Please can i have some more info on this, Thanks. Preferably in the thread, then others can see what they might have todo aswell :)

na you should be able to add one to the outside in the corner.it should fit if done right, then run a new wire.

well radio shack sell a 10k ohn thermistor(that is what i used last time.part #271-110a
i am looking for my notes on the resistor i used to cross over the wire ,to give you the right readout.but i havent found them yet ,i am cleaning up maybe i will find them soon i hope.

ok looks like i used a 220 ohm and a 560 ohm combined and crossed the sensor wires.

ah ok, thanks alot. Ill order a couple of them tonight along with some gfx/mobo vmods. Not sure what you meant by cross over sensors wires?
