Ok I just Got my Mach 2 up and running. I was really nervious on the start-up as it seamed to take for ever to finally start. I dont have the LED yet as they were out of stock when I picked it up so I wasnt able to watch temps fall upon start-up.
What do I really nead to watch out for 1st time running?
Temps seem a little high in Hardware Doc. 1c. I did connect the heating element. Is that the reason the temp is high? I made sure I had good contact before firing up my rig.
Should I check for condensation after a period of time? I assembled exactly to the directions.
The USB conector s the white or black to pin #1? Should I bother hooking it up?
This Rig is reall tall now as I have my Koolance Exos on top cooling a 80w pelt on my NB. I think I will call it the tower of power. ;)
Thanks I would be this far with out ES :toast:

Can some one verify the usb connectors colors as I think mine was wired wrong from the factory start with blk please
Mine is wired like this blk/r/g/w the reason I am asking is the diagram in the book shows blk/g/w/r

dont look at the USB colour wires. The colours are different but the wire itself is correct. Just take the black wire as ground to get the orientation right and then it will be fine.
About temps : I dont remember my NF7 exactly, but you probably wont see subzero temps on the CPU reading unless its idle...they read pretty high. Though better than the EPoXes :) Judge your contact by your OC is the best way to go

That readings' fine. If you wanna see subzero temps, run chip at stock and flash to bios 16... THEN you'll see -20ish

The USB color coding I figured out only after I rewired the plug for the board. I figured I had better check the other end before plugging it in and the end that was hooked to the Mach2 was wired the same way, so I had to undue my rewire job.
I unpluged the heating element and temps droped. How do you guy's run yours? I left it there all sealed up.
This morning on start-up I'm seeing -10.5c

Yep... I did the same then had to wire it back again...
Heating element off will give lower temps but when Idle u may get condensation on outside of evap head... but that can be prevented by folding or similar to keep chip constantly under load...
If you had the LCD it'd probably be reading between -42 and -50 on the evap head... but u can get evap temp thru the software in windows in the meantime.
Running fans on Low Noise vs Turbo can account for upto 10 deg difference in temps. I tend to run manual and set sliders about 3/4 way up the scale for best performance whilst staying just on the brink of being quiet...

Well I really screwed up today. I wanted to see how one of my Barton 2500's would scale in this now. Well when I went to remove the bracket, I thought that you did it the same way as installation, I broke off one of the sonic welded towers. Then while trying to remove the bracket I damaged my pcb on the 2600 after that I just cut the bracket with a pair of clippers.
I fabricated a C-Bracket out of plexi glass and ran some studs threw the MB.
Marci: can you explain the easiest way to remove this bracket without damaging any equipment.
I'm not sure If I will by anouther AMD kit, only if i get condensation as this bracket was a real pain in the (_}_)

Easiest way to remove CPU bracket is to get a fine tipped screw driver. Push down on the top mounting post, slide the small screwdriver behind the lug and twist gently til it clears the lugs, then off it pops. Personally I just grab both mounting posts, squeeze em together gently whilst pushing down and moving up towards the wide end of the socket, then just lift it away.
Never had any probs with any of it meself...

I want to Thank MrZee for coming out to my house and lending me his cpu kit and a little instructions on bracket removal. After a couple practices it was so easy I couldn’t believe I broke my bracket in the 1st place. Thanks MrZee your a friend and a scholar :toast:
Now If I only had a cpu that clocked well.

You're welcome Jim, my pleasure. We will solve that cpu issue soon too. Just read your pm, you definately need some bh-5,
Mushkin PC3500 Black Lvl 2 or OCZ PC3500 Platinum LE.
3.3 mod wouldn't hurt either, let me know how it goes, I want to do mine also.
