View Full Version : Better Board for Vapo/Cascade System

I have a choice between a P4C800 Deluxe and an IC7-Max3. My only hesitation on the P4C800 is the lack of a southbridge for my S-ATA RAID 0. Which board is going to get a better result out of the same chip/cooling combo?

ID give the max3 a shot if I were you. Great when it works imho. The never boards have solved the vdimm problem but the vtt problem remains to be unsolved. However there is a quite a considerabkle amount of people getting 270~300 fsb without it.
You would need 270fsb to run @ 4Ghz so id get the max3. Also the otes does reduce cpu temperatures. I did a experiment by enabling/disabling the otes. On stock hsf my load was 45c with otes and w/o otes the cpu temp was 50c.
