View Full Version : How to run vapo without reset and powerswitch on mobo?
Well i hot wired a psu...and when i turn it on compressor gets on for a second or 2 and than shuts down again.
I have a classic vapo model and i want to run it without any wires on mobo.
Because i use the vapo for cooling my vga and i use a prommie machII for cpu.
Anyone have a idea how to get it to run with out reset and power switch on mobo?
thx

Just jump the ATX connector, green to black. Works on mine,

If that's what you're doing but it still stalls then the PSU you are using is too weak fer the job...
But it works when i boot it up when wires are attached to mobo...with the same psu:confused:

The PSU may need load on the 5v rail as well as the 12v rail to balance it out. Grab a 120mm fan and run it off the 5v rail at same time as the Vapo.
Already tried it (cd-rom) ....checked psu when vapo is running (just with mobo attached) and i get a reading of 11.98v.
I think it needs the reset plug in mobo...for chill-control..but how can i let the vapo think he's attached to a mobo.

Definitely doesn't fella. Spent the past few weekends running a vapo PE just by shorting ATX Connector, with nuthin at all plugged to mobo.... unless things are different with the older chill-controls.
Is the PSU kicking out enough ampage (ignore voltage.... ours fires up happily with 10.5v)
I already have it running....i tried other cd-rom and it just booted up now:confused:
But what the hell...everythings fine now.
Thx for all the help:rolleyes:
