I have been wondering the same sort of thing. Also, I am wondering if a 50x50mm TEC would fit into the MAZE4, or MCW50-T blocks?
Reason is there is a 169w @ 15v but its 50x50, would be cool if it would work. I think at 12v it would work better than the 172 at 12v.

I tried a 172watt @ 15v about 3 years ago when it was the biggest you could get. Worked fine and cooled about the same as my 156 watt @ 12V. I needed it to fit one of the first DD maze blocks that wouldnt holds a 50x50. And my home made one wasnt cutting it.

Yeah but for VGA, where 40x40mm is all you can do (no one makes 50mm apparently) the 172w is the best option ive found after some research. Its rated for that at 24v so if you run it at 12v you should get 80-85w. The 80w TEC at 12v only gives about 55-60w or so.

The 172 watt TEC will need at least 18 volts D.C. to really do some useful work.
The Meanwell PSU's have an adjuster on them that will allow you to drop the voltage down from 24 volts to 19.1 volts.
19.1 volts works well.
