I finally got my prommy. I have a serious problem though.

I press the Power on button. The prommy starts up goes to -40 °C and then says Power Down. PC does not start. Then it says Idle and restarts , after 120 secs it says Standby.

I checked that all connections were made correctly. If I directly connect the Power On button to the Max3 mainboard the PC will start up.

What is wrong here? how can i fix this.

Ooops, I posted about Mach I's, now just edited

Anyway, to make this post somewhat helpful, I checked in the Users Manual and all it says about your problem is to check the yellow/yellow wire is connected to the main board

That and check that the power cord is connected to the power supply unit and the PSU is turned on

Hmm, I was hoping that someone more knowledeable would have posted by now.

I do have a suggestion though. Hit the power button on your case to start up the prommy. In the mean time, pull the yellow/yellow wires from the mobo.

When the prommy hits -30c, use a screwdriver to touch the 2 pins on the mobo (where the case's power up button normally gets connected to) to short the pins and force the mobo to fire up.

Now that the mobo is booting and the power supply is on, the power supply will send a signal to the prommy's molex connector and the prommy shouldn't shut down.

When ya get into windows, install the prommy software and drivers. After that, don't shut the computer but go ahead and hit restart. After rebooting into windows, update the prommy's firmware using the latest update found on nVENTIVE's site.

Hopefully this will help solve the problem.

If it doesn't, It would make me think that there is something wrong with the prommy's controller.

Have you checked for error messages using the LED's at the back of the prommy?

One thing, if your bought your prommy used, are you sure that it is a Mach II and not a Mach I instead? Hehe, don't flame me for that one, just trying to help!

sounds like its not receiving power on the molex. then it assumes your PC hasnt turned on and shuts down at -40 (it gives you time from -33 to -40C to turn on the PC manually if the yellow wire isnt connected right)

funny, I had the same prob once on my Mach I when I had the RESET and POWER connectors swapped over ... probably not the same as your problem ... but I like to share :D

MkII doesn't use RESET connector...

Check both ends of cables are attached at controller end and mobo end. Check that the molex connector from the prommi is connected to the PC PSU. Idiot-check it all... make sure PSU is switched on, ATX Cable connected to mobo, ClearCMOS jumper on correct position. If any one of those is overlooked then you'll have probs, and they're the easiest to cover first...

Pop heatsink back on CPU and try board... if that works then looking like dodgy controller on the prommi. If board doesn't work but did prior to prommi installation, then at somepoint during installation you've trashed yer Mobo...

then says Power Down
Definitely a mkII as it has a proper LCD readout...
