Hi,

I`m going to buy an Athlon64 and a Shuttle or Gigabyte nForce3 board for XMas.But I`m very unsure which Ram I should buy.
I wanna run the Ram 1:1 with the "FSB" and the CPU will be Prometeia cooled.
Have you got any suggestions which Ram I should buy?I`m thinking about the OCZ PC4200EL,would that be a good choice?

*EDIT* I`m going to buy the Athlon64 3200+,not the FX-51 ;-)

Mushkin black level 2...that seems to be the popular thing right now.

Yes,I heard that too and I was told, that I should buy LowLatency BH-5 Ram instead of those HighFrequency PC4000 and PC4200 stuff! Is that right?

Are you getting an A64 FX-51 or 3200+?

3200+,cause I don`t like the Registered Ram stuff ;-)

The OCZ PC3500 Platinum Limited Edition is working very well in my test system aboard the Shuttle AN50R with A64 3200+ aboard.

The Shuttle or Gigabyte are easily volt modded and will run 1:1 FSB or Asynch w/ high FSB very handily. The OCZ does like voltage to run tight timings as you scale up the FSB.

This memory compared to other sticks of BH-5 in my test arsenal goes where no other will:)

Do you mean this OCZ Ram here (http://www.oc-wear.de/pd1067901409.htm?categoryId=21) ?
Do you use one stick or two?

Or the OCZ PC3500 Platinum Limited Edition, which Mr.Icee suggested.
Should I use 2x256Mbyte or 1x512Mbyte?

I'd urge you to go with the Mushkin Lvl. 2 black PC3500.

The Mushkin is being used in a lot of peoples systems with very good results. The OCZ may be as good, but I'd go with the more proven performer, and the Mushkin has a lot of great reports.

He would need registered ram for the fx-51.

I would purchase 2x256MB, but not to run them together with a 3200+. The A64 3200+ has a single-channel memory controller, so no added benefit, besides increased latency, can be had by using 2 DIMM's. I would purchase 2x256MB just so that you would have it on hand when you later decided to upgrade that takes use of dual-channel. Until then, for highest overclock, you get to pick which stick (of the 2) overclocks highest and run it by itself on whatever Socket 754 board you choose.

Yes, thats it:)

I have the 2x256MB kit but only run one stick currently on my A64 test bed. I have also run both sticks in an NF7-S in dual channel mode with great success.:)

Hmm...
I got a problem. The OCZ Platinum Limited is out of stock and they havn`t got any ideas when it`ll be in stock again.I have to choose other ram.I can decide between:A-DATA PC3200 Special Edition(BH-5) and Mushkin PC3500HighPerformance LevelII.
Which one should I buy?But I`m still not sure wheter I sould go with 2x256MByte or 512MByte...
