With my Powercolor R9800se and my corsair, a friend of mine, managed to reach 20317 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7295151). This is still with stock cooling and voltages, softmodded to R9800pro...

what are the other details of the rig

Abit NF7-s V2.0 unmodded bios 18
AMD Barton 2500+ @ 228*11 -> 2515Mhz on light watercooling
2*256mb corsair XMS 2-2-2-11 getting 2.95V (2.8 in bios)
and a maxtor 20Gb harddrive

The watercooling is a simple hydor pump, maze4 cpu block and a heathercore 120mm rad.

I hope to push this hardware a bit further with my own nf7-s, 1700+ DLT3C, same ram, same video card.
But currently my mobo acts really weird and I want something better then my slk-900 to cool it with...

These are quite low clocks I think...
With a better fan, or watercooling, I'd get a lot further...

Cranox, you seem to have done quite some tweaking, this was just an everyday used windows...
When I get my motherboard back on track, I'll have a special win 2K for benching as well...
Btw, aren't you from Belgium as well?

I was wondering about how succesful people have been with softmodding the 9800se? Is it pretty much the same as the 9800 np?

All I know is that the sapphire R9800se had infineon memory chips, which makes it close to impossible to softmod.
The powercolor (like I have one) can mostly be softmodded, but I can't give you any numbers on that one...
I also know someone who succesfully modded his Hercules R9800se.
It's always a bit of luck...
You'll get a higher chance with the 9800np, I guess, cause of the higher clocks...

Good luck on it!

Yeah thanks cause i have been considering getting one for a new cheap rig im building. I might go with one of those powercolors.
Thanks

They're hard to get in the usa, I bought mine in Germany at bytepro (http://www.bytepro.de)
Cost me about 225€, but they're already cheaper if I'm not mistaken...

At the bytepro website, go 'komponenten' -> "grafikkarten" and then you should be able to find it somewhere in the list
like over here (http://www.bytepro.de/index.php?page=show&id=11352&kategorie=15)
Damned, they dropped over 30€ since I bought mine :(

I hope to have helped you, this is the best I can do since I don't know where you live :)

i have a 9800se, cheapest one i could find. it did 420 / 350 easy with no artifacts for a 19xxx 2k1. 2.6 @230 1:1. its a good lil card, just tryed it out real quick and i was happy wth 19k with stock cooling. and its running at 405 / 340 at an extra desert combat machine. good lil cheap card. im sure its good for 21k based on 420 / 350 with no artifacts, i have no desire to bench it anymore tho.

That 2.8 in bios was when i ran 11x218, for benching i always used 2.9(resulting in about 3.0x) I used to be able to bench @230FSB with my Ti200, but now even 229 doesn't works anymore.

I only benched the dlt3c @220 FSB since it didn't seem to like high fsb:confused: I realy do hope you can push it further but it seemed like the 1700+ wasn't that great.

Little better (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7298542). I don't realy like this card, 418.5 is the max core clock. And mem isn't great either...

I'll try 20500 when i have some more time. It should be easy, if ony the card would have clocked better.(don't know if it's the crappy cooler or the gpu) :(
I should make my dragon orb 3 or AMD boxed cooler fit on it!:)
One for the core and one for the nb, and then go for 22k or so.
