What's a safe voltage for BGA memory? I've got 3.6ns (http://www.infineon.com/cgi/ecrm.dll/ecrm/scripts/parameter_overview.jsp?oid=13531&cat_oid=-8975)infenion memory on my card, that i've ran as high as 3.2v. Also does putting ramsinks on BGA memory improve it's overclockability? I've checked my memory during 3DMark and noticed it barely even got warm. What voltage do most of you guys run on your BGA memoroy?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help you with the voltage bit but BGA was designed not only to work at faster speeds but also to dissipate heat more effectively than the TPOS Memory chips. No memory needs more than air cooling atm anyway. If they are only getting midly warm then blow a fan over them, its when theystart getting hotter than heatsinks and a fan will be better for cooling them.

Hope this helps,
Craig

Thanks for the input, was just curious because so many ppl are putting sinks on there memory. Has anyone seen any improvement from putting sinks on there memory? Still curious about voltages though.

Iceman2g,
I gained an 8mhz o/c when I added the coolermaster sink's to my tsop style GF4 Ti4200. Only 8mhz, but every lil bit helped. HERE (http://www.liquidninjas.com/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=37&title=CoolMaster%20ARC-U01%20Ramsink%20Mini-Review) is the mini review I did on them.

WesM63 if that's the case BGA shold not benefit from sinks? Has there been any reviews of BGA sinks?

BGA-form does improve the heat dissipation of memory, but it doesn't make it perfect. There is limited space on a BGA chip that hampers it's transfer to the air surrounding. While BGA-heatsinks worth their salt have a very high area of transfer.

Iceman,
I'm sure they are BGA reviews around somewhere. (I havn't looked), also, anything will benefit from having heatsinks on it. They help dissapate heat, and as we all know, heat is our worst enemy!

The improvements were minimal in both reviews. Inspite of that BGA sinks would be tasty to get that last little bit of performance out your card.
