I will be formatting my C\ drive and installing windows 7, on my E\ drive is all of my music, movies and pictures on a seperate partition. Will these files be ok and accessable from windows 7?

Yes, they will be fine.
Just ensure you select the right partition during install.
I have all my applications on a separate drive and they were untouched.
