Car low is low, that score would have been up to a good 29.7-29.8k with a ripper car chase,, nice:)

crazy high score macci got there. His car chase low is "low"(pun intended) as I thought so. His car chase high details could gain a couple fps. the car chase is the single test responsable for the most bad runs, especially low details which can flucuate 10fps in my case! macci does beat you by a couple fps in drag high details which is curious :) His lobby scores are very nice for single channel ram, must be that super high fsb. Do you think hes got a chance at 30k if he can up his cpu a teeny bit and get a great run?

That FSB and Ram speed is quite nice along with everything else. Macci is so impressive :D

macci
12-03-2003, 01:49 PM
Thank you :)

I was a bit surprised to see the rig could pull over 290FPS in drago hi. I've got it over 290 several times now so it was not just a lucky run it seems. Running high FSB makes the HTT bus run at high speed too. That might be one reason for good drago hi. The driver I used is also a bit faster than say 6360 for dragos. So might be that too.
The 6360 driver would give better lobbys but dragos would go down a bit. Haven't tested the popular 6296 driver with dx 8.1 yet. Maybe its even better.

The A64 is very powerful chip when running at those clocks with high RAM speed. Clock to clock damn near the FX.
30k will take some work but hopefully I can push the little A64 up there :D

Well done :D

30K is so tantalisingly close, I hope you finally get there using this kit.

Im supprised that A64 has done so well, keeps supprising me.

Nice macci. As always you always manage to take the cake (or atleast a piece of it :D )

The A64 3200+ is an amazing chip. Look how close it puts him to OPPand there is about a $350 difference (not counting the expensive regd ram)

Very nice work as always, we await your next cpu with interest ....

It's a good job you didn't have to buy as many motherboards and video cards as you did for your GF3 days to get a good result.....

That's a KG7 .. AMD 760 chipset .. very very slow. I have no idea what Macci was doing with 15 of them !

Maybe he was building a bridge between Finland and Latvia, to compete with the Bridge between Sweden and Denmark :)

I never actually bought any of that stuff. Was working in a shop and that was the stuff that came in one day.

Socks and sandals were my indoor shoes :D

btw, A64 is only 9 Marks from the big 30K (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7298316)! :toast:

Yeah I remember everything think the Impreza was yours and being highly jealous, not that I include myself of course

I think pleading insanity might have been a better option, but I'll let ya have the indoor shoes one ;)

Mighty fine score as ever, you gonna get an FX? Or still keep playing the A64?

Geforce4ti4200
12-05-2003, 03:38 AM
I dont even think an fx is to bother with seeing the registered ram badly holds that fx back. when and if the fx gains the ability to use normal ram then its up for grabs :)

macci
12-05-2003, 03:39 AM
Its rather difficult to find the good parts for a FX system here in Finland so I think I'll just push the A64 little higher. Removing heatspreader might give a nice boost on CPU speed.
Also need to figure some good volt setting for video card RAM. I think it can be pushed a bit higher too.

btw, talking about Impreza.. here's theSTI model (http://www.solidhardware.com/macci/sti.avi) :D

Well if ya ever want anything shipped from the UK by all means just ask. As I've seen Crucial *cough* and OCZ reg ram available here, haven't seen Corsair although can't say I have checked too hard. Gotta stop myself buying it somehow ;)

Also now Socks and Sandals have gone your haz chem suit fetish is worrying me hehe :D

As long as it had been running before that video clip and then turned off doing what was done is fine. As all the parts are nice and warm and coated and protected...

Yeah the C Spec is a lovely impreza, although we are going way off topic ;)

Much left in the system other than bumping up card clocks? See I am sooo on topic

The white smoke indicates it was definately not at normal operating temp. Maybe not cold either but definately not warm.
