i've got,

DFI NF2 - B mobo, 2x256mb TWinmos PC3200 CH5, 1700+ DLT3C 0308 stepping, 400w Vantec ION psu.

got to 220FSB fine, no probs ran 3dmark2001SE 20 times. 3dmark2003 5 times, aquamark and games. Pro Evo 3 paused for a moment so had to restart that but other than that no probs.

Was using 2.8vdimm, 1.6vdd, 1.65 vcore.

223FSB on the other hand caused 3dmark2001SE to crash and Aquamark to generate errors and crash. Some corrupt file lol.

So I reboot, system then continuously reboots over and over. So I clear the CMOS and everything is OK.

So what s holding me back? @ 223fsb i upped the vdd to 1.7 and vdimm to 2.9.

I mean it can't be the mobo can it? these DFI boards are supposed to Overclock really really well, 240 is a common number with these motherboards so it can't be that can it?

Help me please!!! :stick:

first your mobo is not the best for OC. and its probably close of the max for your 1700+.

How exactly did you figure that out, bearing in mind he hasn't even told us what speed his CPU is running at.

the cpu was running at 223 x 10, so 2.23ghz effectively.

My mobo isn't the best for OC? The highest OC on it without mods is 270FSB mate.

Thanks.

People have had the NF7-S up to 260MHZ, my last one wouldn't do over 210MHZ, all hardware isn't created the same d00d.

His RAM is at 223MHz, it still didn't say what his CPU was running at though...

my CPU doesn't like 200 x 12 @ 1.7vcore, it no posted on me.

Which is a shame, I'd suspect its nothing to do with the board now and that my RAM and CPU are the true weak links in this equation. Yes?

Sorry The Runner, that was my last comment on the subject. :D

If upping the vDIMM beyond 2.8v doesn't help much, it might be worth trying a lower multiplier, if you can get your FSB higher then it would indicate the CPU, otherwise It looks like you have reached the FSB limit of your motherboard.

@ 230FSB right now with 3-4-4-4-11 timings, multi is down low. Will run tests in a sec.

ouf!!your mem can do much better timings then that. sometimes to much low timing can afect your OC.

to much high timings****SORRY****

was just doing a suicide run thats all. Went to 240FSB, but Aquamark crashed early on (RAM or CPU problem imo had the same error before @ 225FSB)

I'm @ 215FSB now, gonna take a break. One thing for sure, the mobo isn't @ its limit by quite a margin imo.

I know they were slack, just so I could get up there m8.

Increase the voltages!!! vcore, vmem and vdd.
and run prime95 to check if its stable..

raise voltage is not the solution it will be to much

I must say I do agree with skate2snow. The DFI is not the best overclock motherboard out there. Also your ram is a POS no offence.

What I would recommend is a NF7-S v2 and some Mushkin PC3500 Lvl2

Btw 2.3~2.5Ghz is about average for these chips on air.
