Excellent, any more in it ?

Macci, are those temps for cpu and gpu when running ? If so then does this show the Ati gpu gets very hot because I think you showed before that both were less than -100C under no load.

nice you gained 4 more marks, but wasnt your cpu 2896MHz before when you had 29400 even?

Nice score Macci, damn u rock!!

I have never foudn this out but what cooling are u using?

If you check the Car Low FPS you can figure out how much it has left at those clocks ;)

zakelwe, those are evap temps while running benches. The GPU evap just sucks thats why its so hot :D
I'm making a new evap on that one. should bring the temps down to -90C level

See the Cascade folder (http://www.solidhardware.com/macci/cascade/) for cooling details

how much higher do you recon theres left? 29.5? 29.7? :D
edit: I notice you got a bad run in car chase low details, it dropped quite a bit from the last time you ran it :(

Congrats MACCI!!!!
I think you've got at least 250-300 more points in there, a 410 Car Low should be easy. Everything else looks good. Now what's your opinion of the 3400+? The same rig as yours except with an 11X multi, would it help to run 1:1 270, 3Ghz? Help enough to overtake an FX-51?

Looking great macci:toast:

Looks like you've got a little torque left in reserve for at least one more push towards 30,000. Your cascades are very impressive indeed, keep up the great work my friend !

Thanks guys :)

And yes with a good car low run it would have been 29.6k-29.7k easily.

Just got the new GPU evap done. Gotta test it for leaks and then install it to the cooler tomorrow. If it works like I'm hopeing it to work the GPU temps should come down by some 15-20C - which in turn should give a bit nicer GPU overclock :D

a bit higher card clocks (and who knows maybe 1-2MHz higher FSB) and a good run might be just enough for 30k :)

I don't know Charlie, the FX is pretty crazy. I know the registered DDR makes it a bit tougher to OC but the FX seems just as fast at most things, and it beats the single channel chips pretty good in Lobby. I guess it's possible though. Should be interesting. Anybody have one yet?

The new GPU evap I installed yesterday works pretty darn good. it really fixed the GPU temps for good :D

heh id try to get those last 9 marks first and I noticed opp gained another 200 from higher fsb and a few more MHz to his video clocks. I noticed his cpu is run 50MHz lower that time, maybe hes not done and once he gets to 3GHz again he might be working for 30.5k as for 2003 it could be close ;)

Excellent score macci, increase of 3000 points from your previous score this week ? :)

Can you keep that rate of increase going ? ( j/k )

627 on the core is looking very good for 3dmark03.

Those very cold cascade systems you spent time making have really paid dividends it seems, have they reached or exceded your expectations ? Going colder, or not worth it ?

A64@2947 (9x327.5FSB)... I don't know man, that's pushing the envelope pretty hard. In the meantime OPP has tacked on another 200 points.

Good job Macci (again).:toast:

EDIT: OOPS...make that another 500+ points for OPPAINTER! You're a crazy man OPP!:toast:

Well, it is an A64. It shouldn't be that suprising that the top overclockers would figure out the strengths and weaknesses of the new AMD chips after a couple months or so. I don't think Macci or OPP are done by any means. It always takes awhile to figure out new technology, does it not?:)

that's very honorable of Fugger. can't wait until he get's the first Prescott chip then. or even better an ES sample 3.4 P4 EE.

lower multi's wouldnt give much of a boost. Not to 30.5K+ no way.
I have been playing with an ES EE and i didnt get much extra by going from 280 to 305 FSB at all.
The FX is faster for me on equal cooling. (4.25 GHz on the EE)

OPPAINTER
12-06-2003, 01:00 PM
So JC, you've tested both now and you say the FX is faster??
Is that true?

I like it:D

OPP

JCviggen

didnt have much time with the EE... it seems faster in lobby low and a little in lobby high but its nowhere near the FX in car high... i can get 24K with the EE and 24.2K with the FX (standard XT clock) Though i must admit the EE was running at 300/240 and the FX 223/223 so the memory speed was at the EEs advantage.

your FX isnt going to get beaten by an EE unless macci jacks one up to 4.5 GHz with the mem close to 270.

whered you get the figure of 28x from? the 3.2 EE ES has up to 16x (at least that was my understanding of an ES chip)

In fact they successfully tested the EE with 18x multiplyer, making it 3.6ghz/800fsb stock air and voltage. if Fugger had that chip, he could conceivably break 30k. currently Fugger only has 8x-16x EE/ES.

doesnt matter since he wont publish his 3dmark scores at any other multi due to unfair advantage since only those who work for Intel can get one but anyone can get a prometeia. he probably will wait for the 3.4d prescott I guess

In what way is not unlocking a chip "honorable"? Are you saying that everyone who benches with unlocked chips is without honor?

I think you get a little smiley sex for that one.:smileysex

Geforce4ti4200,

Do you really believe Fugger has not tried everything he could including different multis to bread 30K in 2k1? He published at 16x because that's what worked best, not because he has more honor than everybody else.

There is no dishonor in running unlocked chips, and I've seen Fugger publish plenty of ES benches in the past with non-production multis. What are you guys talking about?
