Not meaning to belittle you or your great CPU in any way :)
I just need to keep selling my stuff so I can keep getting new hardware ;)
And I don't think anyone remembers their exact temps from a specific setting that they have run >12 months ago... I do remember it didn't like running at 70C, needed to stay at or below 65C for 4Ghz+ to be truly stable (not benchmark stable but 24/7 crunching stable, which is what I do)

Atleast slap another fan on that tru... maybe do the washer mod if you havent already. Might knock a few degrees off... Also i'd like to see what that puppy could do on a Giga-UD3 with the right cooling.
Nice chip for sure.

Awsome OC! You should put ut under water and max it out =)

10-28-2009, 06:08 AM
Great OC! :)
My tips:
remove the case's back plate off. <---- 2-3C down instantly.
Bring the strongest fan you can find (not pc fan but a HOUSE fan) and direct it to push air on the Mobo. It will bring "fresh" colder air from the surroundings to the pc area. <---- 4-7C down.
And the most important one.. IMHO though - Install the other Noctua fan on the other side of the cpu cooler block, in the same air-flow direction as the one already installed. It will help the installed fan to do more CFM!

I picked up a new L737B for about $110 from Micro Center today, it'll mainly be used for my VM host machine but I think I'll see what it can do.

I only had time to pop it in and check the VID, it's 1.225! A lot better than the 1.325 one I got last year and sold a while back. I'm guessing I should be able to do 3.6 with under 1.45v.
