I am getting ready to upgrade. I saw a review of a core i7 860 and eventhough it is dual channel memory it showed to perform better than the C2D QXXX cpu's. I was wondering how it compares to the x58 based cores?

It's about the same. However, according to Anandtech, an i7 860 @ 4ghz uses the same power as a i7 920 at stock speed.
