Hey guys,
ive been on this site alot but this is my first time posting =]

So i wanted to get an opinion from you guys.
I am currently running an dfi x38 dk but was thinking of swithicng to Gigabyte EP45-UD3R.

current specs:
case: mountain mods ufo-horizon
mobo: dfi x38 dk
cpu: e8500 eo 3.1 running @ 4.1
ram: crucial ballistix tracer 2x2 gb. dual channel. running at 5-5-5-12 @2.0 volts
gpu: evga gtx260 vanilla

cooling: ocz hydroflow cpu block
gtx200 heatkiller block

Do you guys even think i should waste money switching or should i just use my system and hold out for an i7 later?

i have both
and its not an upgrade;)
if you had a 45mn quad then you should lol
clock for clock the udrp is slower than the dfi
only thing is the dfi x38 is limited @ 550fsb the udrp can do 600+ easy

hmm,
you bring up very good points. Thanks for the insight. I have read a few of your posts when doing research which lead me to buy the x38. So i really appreciate your thoughts on the matter. I am tempted to go core i7 920 with a foxconn flaming blade but dont think i can afford that right now.

Save it for the i7 upgrade fund.

Keep what you have now over a P45, now a P55 would be a good upgrade over the x38 IMHO.

thanks guys for all the advice. Is p55 really worth it ? I didnt think they were that good compared to the i7's. they have different sockets as well correct? 1156 and 1366? I could just be misinformed or just havent done enough research.
