ive just been looking at this. i have dual 5870 i want to run crossfire and im trying to choose a p55 boardsince i have a 860 already sitting here. but slot wise the cables just will not fit many boards out there????

dfi says to use slot 1 and 3 slot 2 is only 4x. evga same deal, asus max3 and 755 has pcie slot 1 and 2 as 8x but they both have 2 pci 1x slots between them. the cables i got with my cards are no where near long enough to do this?? so i guess this limits certain board if you want to run crossfire i assume then....

while i do think using slot 1 and 3 would be very nice do to not heating the upper card from the bottom one as i see now with my dfi the upper card is always more than 5deg hotter than the bottom one.

what does everyone do about using either the 4x slots or somehow getting longer crossfire cables? i have looked everywhere and asked all over the place and no one knows of anywhere to get longer crossfire cables.

if this is the case i guess it def limits my board choice i know i want to run at least 8x on both cards. or am i totally an idiot and missing something here.

the standard connector dose 3 slots from the card so card-empty-empty-card, and if u need a 4 slot connector it should come with the board

call up evga they are normally helpfull, and what board did u get with no xfire cable and needing mroe than 3 slots

nvm the board they only come with the long sli connector on the higher end and nothing on the LE, i would complain to evga that is ridiculous

zanz they have responded numerous times on thier forums to many users that they are mainly a "sli" board. they do NOT provide the xfire cable and suggest finding a "longer" one. i also called evga today about it and they tech person said the same thing. the guy i talked with said he didnt have any idea of where to get the cable either. they provide the sli cable but they said they have never supported or provided a xfire cable

i did not buy that board yet either. but it as of now was the one i wanted but to have to fork over 20$ for a cable out of the get go that should be included i agree is ridiculous.

i guess im back to the start again of looking

also i see dfi p55 DOES include the longer cable...
