My rig now starts then stops, starts, stops & would do it not stop !!

Took every other component out tested, all ok.

Put the old Cpu in does the same, starts, stops.

Its like when a cpu over heats then shuts down, you check the paste and so on :shrug:

Please Help.

Is the fan connected to the CPU fan header or a different fan header on the board? In the past, some boards would turn of if they weren't getting a signal from the CPU fan header on the board. Unsure if this practice has continued to the present, but worth checking. Also, check all power wiring in the case (4 pin connectors primarily) for a case short that may be tripping your power supply.

any bend pins in the socket ? removed the battery ? get the mobo out of the case and try again

Rolling reboots could indicate a shortcut too. Maybe you got an extra bolt under your MB?

Have you checked the memory voltage? mine defaults to 1.8v when I reset CMOS but it requires 2.1v to operate.

Caused me 2 hours of heartache one day that did.

No, but I cant do anything just starts, stops, so frustrating if only I could get to bios ????????????.

Just so stuck, my last atempt is to buy a new mobo, if I new this I would have bought the lastest stuff
