Need Opinions

Hallo ... guys,

I'm going to upgrade my system to i7 in the upcoming month, so I need some advices on which has better OC Headroom in general between i7 860 and i7 920 regardless batch, stepping and revision ....

Any of you have an opinion or experience of this, please ?

I haven't followed with the i7 860 that much, but i7 920 is all about finding the right CPU-batch (week of production).

The best clue would be to find a few good batches (in this forum or other places) and track it down, if you really want a good OC headroom.

Thanks for your clue, but I'd rather change the title of my thread as to this one.

From what I've seen, they're pretty similar with a slight edge going to the D0 stepping 920s. The on-die PCI-e controller seems to interfere a little bit once you get to the high end of the overclocking spectrum. They're still strong though.
