Hm I have a GF2 MX400 here...I wonder what I could do with it...I have a Voodoo3 1000 too but I don't think that would even work in XP...I dunno.

What's the fastest driver for GF2? Is it still 41.09 for everything below FX?

The answer is yes and the answer is no, or maybe mabe! :)

I ran the card on my AMD64 rig and got about 11.2 K only, so didn't bother posting it.

I might have another go tomorrow night.

The top guys are all from Vietnam and have crazy card clocks on their MX 440's.

I see Geforce4Ti4200 is once again flogging us poor souls to get massive scores in the lower ranks :D first 16k for the GF3 and now 13k for the MX440

LOL

The MX440 only has car, drag and lobby top play with, so that is a big jump to 13k without nature.

Andy

Yea, at this point it's all video card limited, so you'll need to get some sick card clocks to get any higher.

Likely, that's about as high as possible.

an a64 and a highly overclocked mx440 should break 13k I believe. drag wont go up much but a beefy cpu will add dozens of fps to car chase and tons of memory bandwith to lobby. I get about 12fps less in car chase high details on my mx440 as ti4200. The gap probably will widen as you stick faster cpus in there, but a good athlon 64 should get like 110fps car chase high, 200+ in low and proportionally high lobby fps. dragothic will depend on your graphics clocks. I am still going for 9k on my mx440 but its only at 330/550 air cooled, added fan to core. I may buy one that does like 400/700 air cooled then v mod it for like 450/750 then go for at least 11k marks but it wont be easy and I havent an athlon 64 to help :(

whats the best way to update drivers?
1. uninstall the old THEN install the new
2. install the new over the old (this way gives me problems)

jmg823 : the first one maybe better..

zakelwe i know how hard you to beat that havu score, but you have great score too.. *it's amazing for me*

A64 cannot makes big difference cause the limited of the MX440 <- that's the point

Thanks Mitz :)

I don't mind being beaten by the Vietnamese, in fact they impressed me a lot because they have a lot of things going against them

1) They don't get the latest stuff very quickly
2) They don't have as much money ( probably ! )
2) They have high temps and humidity all year round

When I was competing with them I went on their forum and though I found it hard to understand what was going on I said well done and they were all very friendly.

Nico / GreenBeret on XS.org is one of their members, or does the web site, I forget ( hello Nico ! )

Looks like it will be cold tonight so I'll see if I can get 2nd spot. My card does 400c/698m so it is well down on havu's card which does a crazy 500+. I think stock is 270 so a 100% overclock ..nice :)

Andy

PSmI am going to have a bottle of gin to get me in the mood and stop me freezing to death again tonight.

have you v modded and prometeid your mx440's core? what about ramsinks and a vmem mod?

Last time I did soldering I soldered my finger tips to my eye balls and wondered around the house whimpering " mummy mummy" for 45 minutes.

those clocks are uber amazing on air cooling and no v mods, I wont even complain. seriously id like to own an mx440 that did around 400/700 then id get like 10k marks. I may v mod all my cards but im starting with my ti500 first then ti4200 :)

It must be a good card. Having looked at your ideas on vmods and prommie cooling I can see now how you can equate a card getting 13k ! I wonder if havu2000 will ever get a prommy ? If he does he will no doubt stick it on the cpu though I guess rather than the card. An interesting decision that would be, cpu or gpu .. might be better on the gpu in this case due to it being the bottle neck.

This is my current rig with air cooling for my 5700U

No cold nights for the next week but I will definitely give the mx440 another go.

nice and theres no case to get in the way! my mx440 only does 330/550 but thats still very nice for 5ns ram! Ive had 4ns ti4200s that didnt do 550 on the ram, go figure! Im not sure how to do a v mod, youd need to look up a guide somewhere as do I. If a faster cpu gains little, then your card may be limiting you if its an old one, in case oc that card to da moon and back. I believe you may crack 11.5k on that mx440, submit the results so I can compare to mine and the highest score and see how far I need to go ;)

Well I am plugging away at it as I type ..currently at 2300Mhz on the AMD64 and 400/698 on the card .. just behind 2nd place.

1st out of reach though.

I see you overtook 2nd place with an 11,437. Excellent score!!! Your video card obviously overclocks very well, even if it does not match Havu's.

The highest that I have benchmarked my Asus MX440 so far is 371/675. I have done some testing at 378/702, but have not completed all the test at that speed. Unfortunately, my IC7-G mobo died this weekend. I got a replacement mobo (another IC7-G), but it does not seem to overclock as good. I may have to try another mobo.

Thanks very much . Yes, it took me all afternoon to beat him by one point. Phew.

I saw your 10.9 score and thought it was getting a bit close to me as well :) , good luck if you get a new motherboard. Hope you get into the 11's soon.

wow zakelwe great job! you passed 2nd place by a hair, one mark to be exact :D I compared first place against yours and he beats you in drag and car chase low details, a sign of a much higher overclocked card. Your lobby and car high detail scores shows your 2.3GHz holding its own against a 3.7GHz p4 :) I did a search setting filter to ignore duplicates(shame on you crazyIV) and im at top of 4th page! Its nice to see some competition in the lower video ranks as well. How far can your athlon64 do?

Thanks! Well I've got water cooling coming for it but it still won't be enough given his very high clocks unless I volt mod the card as you say. Maybe 2400Mhz instead of 2330 and say 11.6K or so.

Maybe after your gf3 and 4200ti you can spend a bit of time on it and get on the first page ? That would be good.

Regards

Andy

PS out of interest the GF4 MX440 I have shows a screen with a pink tinge all the time after I ran some 405 core runs on it with a Peltier and a bit of " moisture " happend :)

Whoa hoo hoo these cards rock!!

I think a prommy wouldn't fit on it.
