I swear many moons ago I did this - there was a prog that I wanted to run in WinServ-03 but it wouldnt install cause it wanted XP.. I did some funky thing to the .exe & got it working - & no its not the right click>compatability thing either - anyone know how to prevent a program from checking what OS version ur running?
TIA :toast:

there is/was a "dos" type command that would tell a program what version of MS OS you are using. I used this program a few times to get programs to work (but it was before XP). I think it is dosver or something like that. You basically tell it what OS to respond with when a certain program queries for it.

lol genius!
How far have you got, does it stop on the install? or while running the program? Have you tried manually unpacking the cab files?

If it's using a Windows Installer or InstallShield setup then grab InstEd and open up the main msi file and delete ( remove ) any LaunchCondition ( 400 ) entries.
If you still can't get it done, tell me which Nokia PC Suite version you want to use and I'll modify it for ya ;)

ok I read ur post more carefully - no, I dont think it uses WinInstaller or InstallShield.. the install file extension is not '.msi' it is '.exe'.. I grabbed InstEd, tried to open the file, it failed :(
I'm willing to do more if u give me more instructions - that way I learn :) otherwise its your turn soldier! :D
If u would like a go, I'm needing the Nokia PC Suite for N95 (non 8GB version).. hang on.. I'll see if I can get a link for u ;) ..
