ok so i have been using win 7 since it first released into beta and then changed to the RC when that came out but just recently, as in the past few weeks, i have been getting completely random crashes. It doesn't BSOD and iv'e looked in the event manager and it isn't giving me an error report so i am clueless as to what may be causing it.

Has anyone had a similar problem and fixed it or is there some completely obvious thing im missing? Any help would be much apreciated

You look to be the only one :(

I would start by uninstalling any recently installed software or downgrading drivers...then try retesting with prime/occt/memtest etc

the strange thing is it doesn't occur when necessarily the system is under any load, sometimes it will just hang when it is running idle after i start it up and walk away for 10 minutes

then i guess it's a part of the os which starts only in idle. get a list and disable them one by one? or simply reinstall^^ whatever takes more time.

ive given up im just gonna back up what i can given how much time i get before it crashes and then reinstall

What makes you think that it is the operating system at fault?

Hoboclese,

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.

Edit By Mod: There was some question as to whether this link was legit (due to it being a tinyurl). I loaded up a VM and gave it a shot - it is a redirect to an actual Microsoft site, full URL: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/w7itpro/
