you can't find it after it happened and you didn't save the checksum of the right version. which pretty much means having everything stored 3 times and checked through (regularly). you can only look for a bad file manually now, if it's even noticeable before it's too late...

If it's noticeable what do I look for and how? :am:

now i know what you were doing...

well this "corruption" is simply changed system files. by some third party software or whatever. it doesn't matter unless you experience problems.
but when you do you can replace them with the original file, if you didn't disable shadow cache or however it is called ^^ the sfc tool should be able to do this, if it isn't, ask microsoft's knowledge base.

Can this corruption cause crashing? The sfc tool can't fix it, it basically saying unable to fix them.
which site can I find microsoft's knowledge base as microsoft has more than one site, I'm not to sure which one it is as I never used them, my OS is OEM?

That means I have two thing going on. I'm going to figure why I'm crashing first before I dill with the file.
Thank you for the help.

enteon, A little update, it was my BIOS that caused the crash, I did a fresh install on a different hard drive to get rid of the file.

Thank you again for the help.
