Pictured is a variac in the Background and in the foreground is a copper block with twin 150watt cartridges and a thermal cutoff switch screwed to the top. The thermal cutoff switch was removed by me when it shorted and stopped working so I dont know the model or manufacturer.

DetroitAC do you recall where you bought that thermal cutoff?

You'll have to search the site for specifics as I din't know the voltage etc....but the ones towards the bottom of the page seem very close. You'll need to register for the site and then search surface mount thermal switch. It's in canada but I think once you find the right "brand" you can more easily shop it where ya need to.

Shoot i didnt even consider operating temps :(

If I operate in the -100c range will this cutout my heatload?

Example:

# Operating Temp. Max:53°C
# Operating Temp. Min:45°C

And the one you like best which I also like has a range down to -30c.

Not sure if that means once it gets colder it cuts out the load tester.
