Hi All,

I've got the DFI x38 board in my machine and it's not very well in term's of overclockability. Basically a PSU blew when overclocking and i only just got the board to work again and only now works at stock.
I'd like to keep my E8500 as i cannot justify buying another CPU / memory at the moment.

i'd like to change to another DFI board (UT-X48-T2R / LP LT X48-T2R) but i'm unsure of the difference's between the two?

does anyone know?

Interesting, I had a PSU blow up while connected to my UT X48. It's a nice looking board, but its quite difficult to overclock. Still, at the price they're going for these days ($139) it wouldn't be a big loss to grab one.

a p45 is an option - i'm kinda a dfi fan for no particular reason, weird but hey ;-) i might have a look at the dfi UT P45-T2RS although thats more expensive than the x48 for some reason!

unfortunatly in the uk they are £139ish though!

if i was getting a new x48 Origin, i'd be going for this one http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/DFI-LanParty-LP-LTX48-T2R-1600FSB

if u check out eva's review of it over at i4memory he says about how dfi put a better clockgen on the mobo over the other x48 / x38's. so it clocked up better then the previous boards

regards

The LT and UT boards have the same clockgen. Eva was referring to the DK X48 T2RSB which indeed has a better clockgen and also has NB and CPU skew options that help with higher FSB clocks.

they must hav sold out of the other mobo so i linked the wrong board. just remember they never had a picture of the t2rsb so assumed that was the same one, without looking properly lol.

cant find it at any other uk stores now either.

I ran the T2RSB Plus and it was just an absolutely fantastic board in every aspect. Ran cool, clocked like stink and was just very easy to work with.
